Alternative IPTV apart from MaigeTV?

Hi all,

With the EPL season getting close, I'm thinking of buying a MaigeTV HD3 seeing how clear and well it played at my friend's place. The only thing holding me back is the price. It's bloody $420 for the machine with one year subscription, and $130 every year!! Contents are amazing though!

Just wondering is there any other IPTV box just as good as MaigeTV but without the expensive price tag? Mainly watches EPL, some chinese live shows, dramas & documentaries. I can read mandarin, so any other chinese version of IPTV is fine with me. Cheers!

  • Doesnt Foxtel EPL On Demand cost only $79 per season or something?

EDIT: Just read it only shows four live matches per week, and six on demand replays.

Season Pass: The Season Pass gives you access to up to 4 live matches and On-Demand replays of 6 matches each round from the time you purchase the Season Pass until the end of the 2014/2015 season for $89. The Season Pass option is great value for money and convenient as you only need to pay once.

    • Problem is Foxtel don't always show my team's match …plus monthly foxtel fee is too much …the iptv i could carry to anywhere I like with internet connection

    • I doubt the MaigeTV is a legit broadcaster of the sports channels listed. If they get shut down, you are lumped with $400+ device that can no longer be used.

      • Not sure..but chinese are definitely good at finding the loophole..lol…quality pretty damn good really..

  • EPL On Demand is IPTV - but yes, not having all matches live is a hindrance.

    • You're right, guess I could watch on Ipad etc…but just used to watching on big screen TV

  • I do know that Foxtel GO is now available for Mac & Windows. Maybe EPL On Demand could be this season also which means laptop > TV connection over HDMI.

  • Theirs a big thread here on the EPL-OD service.

    • NZ EPL pass looks promising…but not sure it will be blocked or not in the future.

Our Foxtel on demand price is just a rip off

      • I assume this is a legit broadcaster. Will take look tonight.

I also see their is Fox Soccer 2 Go in the US.

        • Legit if you can "prove" you are NZ user ;) Sure you know what I mean

  • +1

download Kodi on pc, google an appropriate addon (thats all im saying, u need to research that yourself), connect to TV. Boom…EPL with all matches. Only issue, commentary could be in Russian but the stream is HD. Occassionally you will get English commentary. Need a connection that can take at least 5-10 mbps download.

Alternatively, get a TVpad 4, cost about $350 to $400 no recurring fee. Much better than MaigeTV.

    • Really…not sure about TVpad 4, I have seen TVpad2 though, laggy as hell & not as much contents…

      • It is already better than most chinese tv box.
People mainly use it for shows. Not sure for sports

  • RealTV also been mentioned in other forum? Any comment?

  • Hi all, I hate to say this, but looks like MaigeTV is only IPTV box with access to some English channels too..

I can stream some channels from Kodi at times, but until the day NBN got to my area, it's not gonna be fun to watch

Any others that you know of? or I guess I have to pay $130 every year then ?

    • MaigeTV is the way to go, $130/year is not too bad considering all those channels available

  • You can just get an android box for $60-80 and then buy subscription somewhere else. $130 a year is dead cheap if includes the sports channels you are after. I use my android to watch Italian (mostly) and other foreign content.
