    I can't stop feeling that curved TV's are just a gimmick… :S

    Is it UHD ?

You need to buy enough to make a perfect circle for a total immersive experience. Im waiting for both horizontal and vertical curve so I can put together a sphere.

    • I think its 1080p if its OLED. If your just after 1080 its amazing.

    • The problem is, this is akaif the only OLED TV available in Australia. (this and it's larger model anyway) so wether you want curved, straight smart or not-so-smart then it doesn't matter if you want OLED in Au :(

Buy this and refund it to where you initially bought?

    • Costco ?

  • 4k version of this at 55 inch is like $6k, not good value for money. Costco lady wants me to return it and then buy another one.

    • It's under $5K at HN for the 4K model if you ask. They have a 6 week exclusivity on it, and that price for newly released tech is pretty good considering the falling Aussie $ and its US RRP. Personally until LG releases a flat model, fixes motion processing, and black side issues it's a pass for me.

$2875 @ The Good Guys, no membership needed. + $50 store-credit when you click & collect. (or probably just negotiate -$50 instore)

It's also about the same at JBHIFI.
Today Dick Smith have 16% off, taking their normal price ($3299) to $2771.16.

  • Still prefer Costco, stock warranty is one year, Costco rep advised that they will offer a refund within three years as long as you have a continuous membership. This is not a blanket return policy, it is only when you have a genuine problem.

    • Weird one of the staff at Costco casula told me that everything in Costco has a lifetime warranty as long as you are a member and have the receipt. I thought that was insane but I guess 3 years makes more sense.

      • I once bought a TV from Costco (MEL) and was told they have a 10 year warranty so long as I have continuous membership… Best get that written down on paper.

    • Yeah Id be going with whatever they provide in writing, the rest is called 'puffery' and often isnt worth much at all, even if you CAN prove it, and good luck with that too.
