Top Coat on a Matte Surface?

So I've been trying to find matte/flat clear top coat that is readily available - preferably a spray can. This is just for small paint jobs that I'm trying to protect, but want to keep the matte finish.
There's quite a few options in terms of peel-able cans, such as Plasti-dip and other clear peel coats, but I just want to standard flat coat.

Is there such a thing here in Australia?

Thanks :)

  • What exactly are you trying to do? Have you considered buying Matte and some kind of Dull Clear? Colour matching or fresh job?

The canned stuff with be a crappy acrylic clear, probably shouldn't use it on a car unless you don't mind redoing the job in a year or two.

    • It's actually not for car/automotive parts, but I thought that this was the most suitable category for spray paint. It's actually for small plastic products, and 3d printed models.

Basically I go over my models with my desired colour with a non-expensive enamel paint, or if I want something a bit more special - something like a Duplicolor automotive paint.
I then just use whatever clear top coat I have, but of course they're all gloss versions. I just can't find a can that is clear and matte. It's just all clear and gloss.

      Thanks for your reply.

      • How about this: http://www.bunnings.com.au/boyle-400g-clear-matt-spray-sealeā€¦

Or just google for matte (or matt) clear spray paint.

        • I have seen that product, however it seems more suited to artworks and such. Perhaps it may work, but I'm not too sure.

I have searched a lot on Google, but it either returns products for artworks such as the above / matte rubber peel coats / something ridiculously expensive / products from the US and not readily available in Australia.

          Thanks :)
