I want to order from these guys (Edifice EMA100D-1A2 for $149.99 is amazing value; as are the prices for the G-9300RD-4 & G-9400RD-4), but these reviews don't inspire a lot of confidence.

Neither does this disclaimer on the bottom of each watch page:

Please note: In order for us to bring you this diamond deal, our own price-slashing buying shark has been busy trawling the globe for that perfect value/quality balance. As a result, these watches do not come complete in the Casio presentation box.

    Anyone got anymore feedback?

I have purchased from 1-Day in the past and I have no bad comments. In my experience websites like Product Review are magnets for the disenchanted who want to have a whinge - it seems sort of like the posters are getting revenge on someone who had the temerity to give them less than perfect service. Then there's the glowing reviews which don't ring true, probably posted by the aunts and uncles of the young entrepreneurs running the business.
It's like researching a holiday through Tripadvisor - you read a lot and don't know which part if any is true, so you try to get a gut feel.
If you pay by credit card you can (usually) get your money back if there's a problem (no paypal by the look of it)

The thing I'm apprehensive about is A) they're NZ-based (so Fair Trading doesn't have your back as I believe you need to be physically in NZ) and B) they are not shipping watches with original packaging/manufacturer warranties so you may not even have cause to send anything back if anything does go wrong.

As someone who buys a lot of Casio merch; those are all the hallmarks of dedicated watch scammers (predominantly Ebay). That and too-good-to-be-true pricing.

        • I love the prices and I am tempted to buy. But I think I will steer clear of this offer.

I think you are spot on @Amar89, all the hallmarks of scammers.

        • @Zaddo: I also do concede though that ProductReview is not an infallible source and I have seen many contradictory opinions from there but I've seen past criticism of 1-Day on both OzBargain and Whirlpool.
