Bought a phone off an eBay seller (company) turned out to be faulty... advice?

Bought a Samsung S4 off a seller with 100% positive votes (800+ votes)

So i bought a phone for a family member last month as a present First the phone doesn't arrive on the said last day of delivery (4 days late)
second - The charger that was sent with the phone was faulty - ( they have send a replacement after hassling them)
and now the phone is faulty… it randomly makes high pitched noises when the other person picks up the phone…

They are so slow at responding and usually take about 15 emails to them to do something, i have offered to give them my number so they can call me and resolve the matter rather then on email but nothing… any advice would be good

open a PayPal dispute..Any good seller will want to protect their feedback, maybe they need some encouragement.

Was the phone brand new Australian stock? Do you happen to have a receipt from them?

If yes, you can sort it out directly with Samsung AU by contacting them.

If it's overseas stock(grey import) unfortunately you'll have to get it sorted out by them.

    • It they are an Australian store say you are disappointed with their response and if they don't fix it you will go to Whirlpool and ProductReview and post your experience with the company online. The problem with buying this sort of stuff on eBay is it is hard to thump on a virtual desk to get resolution of issues; particularly if the company is overseas. Personally I would never buy something like this from eBay.

  • From what you have said (Charger Faulty + 15 emails to get things done) , it doesn't look like the seller will resolve the issue without a push.

Threaten a Paypal dispute case + Negative feedback on ebay/additional forums - personally I have seen sellers respond to such threats immediately.

If the above doesn't work then as nocure said just open a Paypal dispute.

  • Thanks guys.

They are an Australian seller. they have gotten back to me and asked me to send the phone to them (PO BOX) so let's see what happens next.
