      It came out on OSX two months after the Windows release. It was even released on Linux less than 5 years after the Windows release :P

      This has actually been around for a while - IIRC, the Steam version has been compatible with Mac & PC from very early on.

    seriously. Game has been out for 5 years and I have never seen a "free to PC" mode.

    Damn it, I hope the LAN / Multiplayer functionality gets updated in the near future.

    I got excited at this deal, so I could play my Civ V on PC against my house mate on his Mac, but this Mac game is only good for 'Mac to Mac multiplayer at this time'.

    Oh well.. maybe he could practice on single player for a while and hopefully multiplayer cross platform comes at a later date.

      to play a Mac to PC multiplayer he will need to get it on steam as the Mac App Store version aka Campaign Edition will likely stay Mac to Mac multiplayer same as any other Campaign Edition of games on the MAS.

    this game is steam works so the key will work on steam and run on pc i got the mac redeem code but no mac osx
