    hi all

    hi

Can you please help me find a Samsung Galaxy s5 australian stock new and sealed with receipt, warranty

Of course. Browse through some of these.

    thanks

    You're welcome

need advise if I buy a new sealed phone on someone elses contract i.e telstra, optus

When you're in a contract that includes the phone, you're making a monthly payment on the handset along with the usage. I believe that unless the contracted party pays off their phone with the Tel-Co, they are in breach of their contract to sell the phone to a third party. This may lead to issues further down the track with regards to getting the phone unlocked.

is this advisable if anything was to go wrong and I need to claim warranty from Samsung

If the phone breaks, it will most likely need to go back through to Samsung via the Telco. So if you are not the owner of the phone, this may be an issue.

    • Thanks a lot for taking the time to reapond. Be blesse. Much appreciates.

  • I have a LG G3 32GB unlocked brand new for sale. A lot of reviews say it is better than S5. Bigger screen but phone size is similar to S5. PM me if interested. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/203997

    • Thanks but no thanks

No worries, good luck with it. Cheapest Australian stock is probably this:
        https://www.catchoftheday.com.au/product/samsung-galaxy-s5-s…

However, I suggest you have a play with the S5 before purchasing. I have been a Samsung user/fan for years but to be honest the lag on them is terrible. Try taking a photo, and then click on the photo to have a look at it. The photo takes about 3-4 seconds to come up. Same with the phonebook. Sometimes takes 4-5 seconds for the contacts to appear. Same with the keyboard, sometimes takes a few seconds to appear. I had all the Galaxy series phones and was going to buy S5, thinking the lags must be fixed by now, but when I tested my friends S5, still had the same issues, which are most likely due to Samsung's Touchwiz. Try a LG G3 or HTC One M8 back to back with S5, and then tell me which one is smoother and nicer to use.

        • Thanks a lot Billy Bob. Will try them out and see which one is best.

  • This is ~410 bucks but not AU stock…http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Original-Samsung-Galaxy-S5-New-Unlocked-Mobile-phone-Quad-Core-2GB-RAM-16GB-ROM-16MP-Camera/1114650_1979407026.html?spm=5261.7049941.1998509440.19.OTJd1G&sdom=101.633.663.0_1979407026

Sorry vishmanj, I think the only way you will S5 get AU stock for $400 is to buy a used one on eBay. They are still $600 new for AU stock. Good luck.

I can comment on the last question about things going wrong. I bought a samsung s4 second hand off a friend which was out of contract but still in the warranty period. It broke so I took a chance and took it into telstra. They looked up the imei number of the phone in their database, saw that it was still in warranty and sent it away. Didn't care that I wasn't the original owner. Only negative with that is that warranty starts on the day it was delivered unless you have a later proof of purchase.
