I just farted if anyone wants free gas…

  • And when I switched (not to one big con) Origin asked me to stay with 25% off.

    • Just out of curiosity, as I have never used them, how is it one big con?

      • Its constantly promoted by Channel7, The Telegraph and each have a commercial interest and get commissions on the deal. Plus many times the discounts arent any better than ones offered elsewhere.

So the main beneficiaries are these media companies.

        See http://www.abc.net.au/mediawatch/transcripts/s4277463.htm

        • Thanks. oh, that is how the $100 commission (in T&C) is shared.

  • Not available to solar customers :(

I am in Brisbane. The offer to me is 15% off usage and daily charge from Click Energy. I checked out the rates in the switching agreement, it is higher than Click Energy's normal rates on their website. So, it's 15% off the higher rates. I did a quick calculation in Excel and decided that based on my average usage of 600 units per month, it is cheaper for me to stay with my current provider with their pay ontime discount.

    So one big con indeed…

    • +1. Better deal with discount on Daily Charge as well as only Usage.

    • Who is your current provider? And what discount do you get?
I am in the same situation and looking for the best deal available at e moment.

      • I am with Origin Energy, getting 16% off usage only. I know a guy who knows a guy. :)

Depending on your usage, you might be better off on this plan. Also with Click Energy.

        Please do your own calculations.

        • 16% seems a good discount. Is it 15% pay on time discount plus 1% direct debit discount or the whole 16% for pay on time?

        • @maxi: I am not sure, I think it is just 16% including direct debit. Please bear in mind that 16% off usage only doesn't seem like a better deal compared to 15% off usage and daily charge, but in reality, the 16% off usage is based on a lower rate per unit, compared to One Big Con's offer of 15% off a higher rate per unit and higher daily charge. So my 16% off usage Origin plan I am on now is actually cheaper.
