Prepaid Plan in London

I'm heading to London for 10 days and wish to pick up a prepaid SIM for data (voice is optional but I'm willing to sacrifice for lower cost). From what I've read, I'm best to buy one in London rather than Australia for the cheapest option. Given airports are notoriously expensive, should I expect a markup on prepaid plans at Heathrow airport? Or am I better finding a 7/11 or something along the way?

Usage: 10 days of heavy email, moderate Google maps, and light web browsing.

Full disclosure: I'm a prepaid noob. Happy to take any advice :)

    Three have a great plan - I don't have details handy, but it had unlimited data for a month for something like 15 GBP.

    According to that first link it looks like giffgaff is the way to go for data usage in London.

    Go to https://www.giffgaff.com/orders/free-sim and click on "More Info on Prices" and look at the Goodybag pricing, 3G is quite generous if you don't need the speed of 4G. For 10GBP ($21.32AUD) you get 1GB of 3G data.

      Giff Gaff is the way to go however you cannot pick them up in store.
      You need it sent to an address.
      I've been with them for years.

        If he is staying at the same hotel for multiple days he could prob order it 1-2 days before he departs and collect it on arrival. If he is leaving in a month or more he could use a mail forwarding service, sim cards are normally just in regular envelopes so should still be very cheap to have forwarded to AU.

    There is a vending machine for '3 Mobile' sims and others at heathrow near the luggage belts before you head outside.

    When I was there Vodaphone had the best reputation for coverage. Not the cheapest option though.
