These are a factory refurbished product. A refurbished product is one which usually has been returned to the supplier and is then fixed by a technician and thoroughly tested. As a result, refurbished product will usually have a lower rate of return than new products since they are all individually checked and tested while new products are not always. So all-in-all, these perform like a brand new product (although you may find some minor cosmetic imperfections), and you get them at a fraction of the price!

    http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Satellite-C75D-B7215-TruBrite-…

    Amazon link and reviews

Shipping comes up as $10.98 for me in Perth

    • That's a lot of 1 star reviews.

      • and yet the avg. score is 3.5/5 which makes it sound passable but to be fair, reading thru the reviews, the vast majority is 'dumb american at the wheel' problems…

  • this is not too bad a deal. I think it's a bit too expensive at 499. For 100 less it would've been a solid bargain.

oh man where do i begin…

    AMD everywhere say no more

1,600 x 900 is getting kind of coarse at 15" let alone 17"… its fine on say a 14

5,400 drive yeahh…. get an ssd

normally i dont care for ethernet on a laptop but 10/100 on what is a DTR is kind of insulting… this laptop seems to be the perfect storm of bad design choices

So find a 17" laptop with the specs you want @ $499 and post it as a deal? If such a thing exists…!

  • +1

This PC's specs fall in a middle ground that makes it not something I'd recommend to most people. But hey, if they suit you, good deal.

    • Yeah thats what I thought! Too many cheap laptops these days with lousy screen res ie 1366x768. Personally figured anything better (ie i5 cpu, better gpu) would be close to the $1k mark.
And the deal had an hour to go when I posted :P

  • I'm not trying to neg the deal, but just want others to know that AMD in notebook is truly a deal breaker (in PC may not be too bad).

I thought give AMD a try and bought new nb, and immediately noticed it was running super hot. It dead a few months later and repaired under-warranty. it was sold on ebay.

Too much time and effort wasted.
