Probably look like this by the time you can get on 1 :P

Thanks, didn't really need it, but purchased in order to relive my youth.

    Death by 1000 cuts Bargains.

Now where is a deal on hospital cover….

    • +6

Maybe you could vote to say thanks also.

  • Any experience with these brand boards? are they primarily for child use? Can see lots of other google links for the Popsicle boards for sale in ToysRUs and other toy stores which suggests maybe not for adult use. While I have no intentions of 10ft half pipe/heavy usage, for cruising around I could see myself giving this a crack for fun (and as "_Mark" said, to relive youthful moments!). just wouldnt want to buy it then learn it is flimsy as hell.
Probably still buy one anyway .. $20 why not…

Am going down to the local BCF in a few hours to check it out…will report back ;)

      • heavy adult noob skateboarder reporting. Please do post how was it.

      • +7

OK…checked it out in-store, and was happy enough with the size (it's full-size) and build quality, and confident enough that it would be ok with my weight / height (85kg / 6ft) to buy one :)

Took it to a back street on the way back to work, and gave it a quick ride and tried a half-arsed ollie (keep in mind I was in my office clothes lol!).

Felt solid, although I am not about to charge the local pipe to smash out a few mctwists.

For me it's just the occasional street skating, and will maybe check out the local skate park.

NOTE: It does say on the packaging that the rider shouldn't be over 150 pounds (~ 70kg), but I personally was happy with how it felt ;)

        • Must've looked out of place in-store, a skateboard in an outdoor store!

          @Spackbace:

Yeah…and there I was adding to the spectacle, testing this thing out in-store in my business shirt, trousers, and Julius Marlow work shoes :)

Can't imagine how it looked in that back street lol!

awesome thanks mate - that's me sold then :)
          appreciate your effort!

for cruising around, the wheels will be too small/hard to be comfortable (and you'll eat it when encountering pebbles from hell)

if you do buy this, i recommend getting some bigger 57mm+ wheels with a durometer of 78a or 80a. also upgrade the bushings with bones hardcore for better turnability as almost all stock bushings on completes are rubbish.

edit: majority of boards you see in toy stores, sports stores, target and the like are crap as every component is made to a poor quality standard.

    • yeah i saw recommended for ages 3-8 and thought twice about it.

  • Just ordered one for the young fella. cheers OP!

  • Is this a typical full size skateboard?

    • length-wise, yes.
width depends on personal preferences/shoe size

      • Would a pro street skater use this width?
Also how many ply is it?

  • The trucks might be the weak point.

Bearings will be crappy too, but you can easily replace with $11 dollar Bones Reds.

  • If I can McTwist in THPS, I can do it with this board right? Purchased.

  • My little man, smashed his cheapie cheap skate board in half a few weeks ago, been looking for a nice replacement.
    Ordered, thank you OP.

    • How long is "Normal" to get the confirmation to pick it up from the store? The email said it should be picked within 4 hours of trading hours but you can see when I ordered it, it's well over that. Should I contact the store, or just wait?

      • +1

        I'd call them :)

I did this morning, first time I was on hold for 10 mins and then the phone cut out. Then I thought I'll reply to them from the link in my email from them, it bounced back from their postmaster. So I called again on hold for a few minutes and got a very helpful lady spoke who contacted the store and they were having a refresh issue in the system so my order was not showing at the store. All sorted and ready for pick up.

  • Managed to get this board for $10 in store, has to ask the staff to be sure it was on sale for $10, it has a weight limit of 150lb written on it so be careful using it.

    • interesting..
"has to ask the staff to be sure it was on sale for $10"? can you explain that a little more - and which BCF store was this?
      Thanks!

      • Well it was sitting next to one of those discount bins in store and I had to ask staff to confirm because I was surprised it was only $10. I got it a few weeks ago though so probably bcf started selling them at $20 online, the staff said they were just not selling these anymore so hence the low price. I doubt you'll get it for $10 I'm store now unless they have leftover stock they're trying to get rid of.

        • ah ok understood- thanks for clarifying. Which BCF store was that? I'll be heading past the Auburn, NSW store today.

        • @swampson: oh OK this was in greenslopes qld

  • Score!!

  • Grabbed one as a present…one of the wheels doesn't spin freely…not happy.

    • crap bearings and/or axle nut over-tightened

      • Tight nut..easy fix thankfully. Cheers

  • So…took the new board to the local skate park before work today (when no-one else was around!).

It took all of five minutes for the following to become evident:

    • My skating skills are very rusty
    • I am very unfit

Happy to say that I pulled off my first ever drop in (having never skated ramp before)…ok, it was on the mini 4 foot ramp thingy, and it took a few attempts, but I was proud :)

There are two more parks to try out in my area, which are hopefully more catered towards skaters, as that one today was huge, and apparently made more for bmx (there were a few ledges, but no rails etc).

Anyone else given it a decent ride?
