Coles - Buy a $2 Telstra Pre-Paid SIM Starter Kit for $1 and Get 10% off Recharge (up to $50)

210

Buy a $2 Telstra Pre-Paid SIM Starter Kit for $1 and get 10% off recharge (up to $50) + 250 Bonus Flybuys points. Must be done in same transaction.

I think this will work for Data Pass. Maybe someone can try and confirm in the comments below.
$1 SIM + $45 ($50 x 10%) = $46 for a 365 day expiry.

Ad says Limit of 1 per customer. But i assume that's for the Flybuy points.

much better buying the $30 sims for 50% off especially with the cashback off now on

    • Ok

Not necessarily. The $50 recharge has its place in extending expiry for 1 yeah.

      • on long life 1 sim is 6 months. 2 sims = 1 year and can be had less than $28

Sorry, meant it might be good for extending expiry on new data pass plan and glitch giving 500mb for $1 credit me t u transfer.

          From wiki and whirlpool:
Buy 1 X $2 SIM, a $50 recharge voucher and however many discounted $30 starter kits for $15 ($5 after cash back,if that is still working)

Activate the $2 SIM on the data pass offer and the discounted starter kits on any phone offer (if on Freedom will get 28-30 day expiry but additional data on that SIM; if on Long Life for 6 month expiry). CreditMe2U $1 at a time to the data pass SIM (24 times) for 500MB data bonus. Apply the $50 recharge voucher for 365 day expiry from the date of the recharge, otherwise the data bonus will expire after 3 days from the last CreditMe2U.

Might be good for Telstra Ticket rewards registration ($10 tickets to Event cinemas).

    • +1

Telstra Thanks Event Cinemas tickets are now $11 each.

  • Can you use the phone then for unmetered AFL live usage? Im assuming you need to have the 365 days credit, but it shouldnt use any for watching the AFL.

    • +2

Pre-paid mobile phones get unmetered access to AFL via the official app.

  • need to stack this up with flybuys offer / dockets to get max discount!

  • Probably a stupid question,
but if I only want to receive calls can I just buy the SIM and get the phone working ?
I think the SIM may last 6months once activated.

    • True.

    • You need to activate it. You may not need to recharge it.

I got a sim and it worked without activating it. check if it works before activating it. it might last longer?

        • "Worked" as in it connected to a cellular network? Or was able to receive calls and SMS?

        • +1

@sween64: was able to receive calls and sms

        • @kima:
Thanks I'll give it a try, anyway.

Is this a nationwide promo or just a local (instore) one?

    • Nationwide it seems.

    • I got a flybuys email today with the same offer photograph.
I had to activate the offer though on my flybuys account.
250 points = $1.25 so I assume you cannot buy the sim starter kit ($1) alone, and still get the points.

    • Wasn't available at West Ryde Coles

      • Try going as far as selecting a payment option and it should show up. These offers are annoying in that they sometimes do not appear after scanning everything and require you to go the additional step in choosing your payment option before applying the discount.

  • Contrary to the promotional banner found in stores, the offer is not limited to a $50 recharge. I bought three charges for a total value of $100 (in the same transaction as the SIM) and received $10 off..
