I have one at home from previous sales.
Not even 6mth old and if I use it a several times without charging, I can feel the rotation strength is lots weaker, not satisfactory.
Therefore, I kept mine plugged in the charger all the time so when I press on it whirrs like a buzzsaw, aaaaaah cleanliness.

    • Exactly the same for me.

    • Yeah I've noticed this too, which is unfortunate.

You're supposed to leave it plugged in all the time, running down the battery all the time is not good for the life. I have a higher end model that is 2 years old and I can use it without the charger if required for nearly a week and I keep mine on charge all the time except for weekends away. Last year we were away for five weeks and I only charged it once a week and it never let me down.

      • That's not true. This low end model comes with a NiCd battery, at least mine did when I replaced the battery. Leaving it on the charger constantly is bad for the life of the battery.
Higher end models have different battery types.

Braun (the manufacturer) says otherwise. Full discharge when new and every six months and leave on the charger the rest of the time.

"To maximize the capacity and life of the rechargeable batteries, the power handle should be placed on the charging stand for 16 hours before the first use. Then unplug the charger and do not recharge until the power unit has been fully discharged by daily use. The charger may then be reconnected and left plugged in at all times. For best results, the power unit should be completely discharged by use twice a year, and then fully recharged for 16 hours after each discharge."
