So I was buying a box of no.10 size staples at Kmart (Eastgardens) for $2, and when I scanned it, it came up as 5c!

Naturally, my first thought was to go back and get as many packs as I could comfortably carry (16 packs) regardless of my need for more than one pack.
My second thought was - my friends on OzB need to buy silly amounts of staples too!

insert obligatory pun about them being a staple product

I asked the lady at the checkout whether this is in every store and she said she thinks so. I'm trusting her on this one.
The brand is 'OfficeOne', and there are loads there.

Will be accepting suggestions on what to do with 32,000 staples.

      I made a staple chain while bored in a tafe class once. Thought I'd test the strength of it by pulling it apart with my two index fingers. In came apart with a quick jerk, and then I noticed my fingers looked funny. Then came the pain.

      Best I can figure is a staple opened up and stabbed in to one finger, then the rest of the broken 'chain' sawed its way around my other finger. Only skin, but it looked nasty.

      TL;DR - Don't test a staple chain strength with your fingers :(

    This is probably old stock. Most likely they've changed the packaging and SKU number has changed (The APN 9300806838847). If you find the staples with that APN it should scan up as 0.05c nationwide. The reason why the shelf edge says $2 is probably because the clearance 0.05c and the $2 ones are mixed together.
