Alternative to Heater Light in Bathroom?

Hi all,

Got a fairly high ceiling in bathroom, and I find the ceiling light heater just doesn't "heat" me up. Any good alternative which could heat up bathroom quick? Cheers!

      Looks like it costs $300.
I would be inclined to just use a $20 fan heater. It would be no more dangerous than a hair dryer.
The other option is wall mounted radiant bar heaters, but in my experience they take 5mins to warm up.

  • We have a little ceramic heater in our bathroom that has an auto cutout and the switches are coated with plastic to get keep the water out. It is up on the vanity so it is out of the way of the shower and sink. We've not had a problem so far and we've never tripped the cutout switch due to water. You do have to reset it every time you turn it off at the wall as opposed to the switches. (I bought it a number of years ago so not sure where you get one now.) We just run it for the time we are in the bathroom and it is very quick to heat up.

  • What about those heated tiles / floor?

    • I would love those but they are bloody expensive

  • Are you standing under the heat lights? They only heat what they shine on. Best option, have a hotter shower and get dressed quickly!

    • I am..but seriously heat lamp dont warm up the whole room..

      • That's right. Heat lamps only heat what they shine on. There isn't much point putting a heat lamp on 10 min before you go in there, it's just not how they work.

  • We also have a heller ceramic wall heated does a good cost $50 at home hardware.

    .

    • Inside bathroom? You sure?

      • Yep its wall mounted it's the same as this one

We got it for when the kids were in the bath we turn it on 5 mins before to heat up defiantly does the job.

        • Seriously? You're worried about moisture built up in the machine? I don't think it's designed to be use in bathroom that's all

        • @Droid11:

Not really worried about it hopefully if any issues our safety switch will cut out.
