I grabbed one of these in America for about the same, and I swear by them. Free shipping today only (12/08) thanks den_yong

Note: if you haven't purchased from Uniqlo before, maybe pick one size above normal as the sizes are fairly small relative to other brands in Australia.

When I was a little girl in Panama, a rich American came to our town and he was wearing the softest most beautiful sweater. I said to him, "what do you call this most beautiful fabric?", and he said "they call it cashmere". I repeated the words "cashmere, cashmere". I asked if I could have it, and he said "No. Get away from me." Then he started walk away. But I grabbed onto his leg screaming for him to give me the sweater and he dragged me through the street. And then he kicked at me with the other foot and threw some change at me. Oh, but I didn't want the change Georgie. I wanted the cashmere.

Make sure you check carefully for a dot.

and what happened when you woke up??? That Cashmere piece was in your hand?

    • I had a feeling you would like it.

    • 60+ votes and i don't get it, is this from a popular book or something?

        • This is like the last long running sitcom that i have not seen :(

          @xEnt: Should've been the first ;)

        • @xEnt: Have you at least seen "Rochelle, Rochelle - a young girl's strange, erotic journey from Milan to Minsk?"

  • thanks
bought a merino sweater at the last deal and found it to be of excellent quality

  • This is what my partner was looking for. Thanks!

Is it discounted because it has a small red dot on it like the one George bought for Elaine?

    • Haha, beat me to it.

    • Filty fleb, you obviously haven't worn anything cashmere before. Anything made of that stuff is likely to be 4 times the price.

It's 100% cashmere, it is very very cheap, relatively speaking.

  • +4

damn I read it as 100% off

  • Can you return/exchange in store if you buy online? it's not clear on the website

    • My understanding is that online orders can't be returned/exchanged instore. You need to post unwanted items back and there is a $7 fee as well.

      • +1

Ah. How annoying. I tried on some of the cheaper sweaters in store and the S was tiny while the M was huge, so was going to order both and return one in store. Guess i won't be ordering any now.

Thanks for the info though :)

        • I recently ordered a ladies lambswool blend crew neck knit and ordered a size L because the M had sold out. I'm generally an Aus 12 in tops and I was really happy with the fit. It was not too baggy. I do recommend sizing up.

I exchanged it in Sydney CBD store before without any question.
Add: They didn't charge me extra for exchange.

    • Same, exchanged pants at Sydney CBD store and they're quite flexible.
Like for like - no charge.
For something else, then you pay the difference (at price store).

    • Yes you can bring the item with receipt to any Uniqlo store for the exchange within 30 days. Make sure that you keep all tags on.

  • Is this in store as well?

    • Yes it should be

Just a word of warning, these seem to pill quite easily. I bought one earlier this year and wore it quite a few times, but am disappointed that it's already pilling. It's very warm though, been great for winter, but I prob wouldn't get another after seeing how quickly this one started bluffing up.

    • +3

Yeah but all cashmere does that. I think that for these cheaper sweaters they use the shorter staples of cashmere that tend to pill more easily, but you could buy a $600 Ralph Lauren sweater and that is no guarantee that they will use better quality cashmere.

Pilling varies enormously from person to person, season to season, sweater to sweater. You could argue about it till the cows come home.

      • +4

Or until the goats come home.

    • How are you washing it?

      • Most 100% cashmeres say "dry-clean only" - probably as a safety net… although this is probably implausible for the average ozbargainer. Mine has gone through a few cycles of cold wash without issues.

      • I haven't washed my yet, as I work in an office, and in winter I never sweat enough to warranty washing the garment

Who doesn't like cashmere? Find me one person in the world that doesn't like cashmere. It's too expensive. but @ 54% off, it's worth a try

    • +3

You know what I see? A very cheap man holding a sweater, trying to get away with something.

  • +1

Ordered 1 jumper and 1 cardi, thanks OP.
For those who are baulking at the price still, cashmere is amazingly soft against the skin. It's not at all itchy like wool can be. Plus it's so much warmer than wool (like wearing 2 jumpers) but without the bulk. Totally worth it and good to stock up now for next winter.

  • +1

I got a Merino one a few weeks back, and it tore a seam within weeks. I got free shipping, etc. Returning it will cost me the price of the jumper.

Very upset since some pants i bought from them have lasted me ages.

    • +2

Same here. Bought 4 merinos and 1 cashmere from Uniqlo last winter. Didn't wear them too much but all 5 have holes already. The cashmere one I probably wore 10 times before I got a hole.
The Hallensteins ones I bought this winter, while they pill a bit more than the Uniqlo ones, none of them have holes and I've worn them quite a bit. They've been on a deal once or twice on OzBargain lately.

      • Really? Christ, that sours my view so much. I thought they were leagues better than H&M.

Im going to take it back, and demand they refund on the spot.

        • Don't let one person's experience deter you. I bought 2 merino jumpers from Uniqlo a few months back and have consistently worn them a few times a week since. Neither of mine have holes. I also have another from H&M and it doesn't have holes either. I'm not sure what mauitime does with his jumpers…

  • Can vouch for the softness of these. Soooooooooooooo soft!

  • when is this sale going on until?

  • +2

They sound great but I can only see XL size for the neutral colours - sold out?

  • +2

Nice find OP, damn no crew necks available, tough decision, but it is cashmere.

  • +2

bought 3 on impulse. thanks ozbargain!

  • +1

I bought one of these when I went to Japan last year
Now wearing it everyday, its light, comfort, soft and warm :)

  • I'd like to know if we buy this from online and they only have XL in stock, can i exhange to the store for a different size?

    • +1

No, also can't refund online orders in store. I tried with a pair of trousers, and they said they have separate inventories.

  • Is this sold out? Can't add anything to cart

  • Not available.

  • +1

6'1 for size xs, are you serious?

  • The ladies cashmere cardigans better value IMO. $59.90, down from $129.90. Bought 2.

Also, free shipping for orders > $100 (if not mentioned previously).

  • I bought a Merino for $20 last time. It's pretty comfortable I guess. Should I get a cashmere?

    Oh it expired.

  • Tried the cashmere jumper in store…nothing special to be honest. Fits true to size for those wondering

    • Was it on sale in store too?

  • +1

    Mine arrived last night.
Tried it on. Fit well. Feels good.
    So far, all good.

  • Got mine today. Shouldn't have ordered a size larger. Now it's too big. Hopefully they'll accept an exchange through post :S
Anyone have any experience with returning by post? Do they charge extra?
