E-Tag - Citylink or Eastlink? VICTORIA

Hi ladies and gents,

So i did a search and am pretty aware that these questions come up quite a bit!
I am looking to open a toll-way account and unsure which way to go about it! I had a look at existing threads but they were out-of-date which brings me to this question!

What's better? The same? I had a little read but they seem pretty identical except for the customer service.

Any constructive feedback would be great!

We have a Citylink e-tag account for 10+ years (i.e. before Eastlink). The e-tag works on EastLink, as well as all toll roads in Aust.
Changed our car rego few times, no problem with its Customer Service.

    • Thanks for responding! What plan did you go with? Everyday or Access account?

      • Everyday prepaid. We don't travel on CityLink/EastLink much (once/twice a month). We put $50 in the account and forget about it. When the account is low, the eTag beeps twice (as oppose to the normal one beep), we just top it up online. Too easy.

I have both, pretty much the same.

I prefer Breeze (Eastlink) as they accept AMEX, while Citylink don't (or have a surcharge).

  • I did my research and in the end got a eastlink account. No complaints, their web interface is pretty good. They even gave me a tag for the second car in my account for free.

  • Do you travel regularly?

I signed up to GoVia because they had the lowest initial fee and one of the smallest tags. They are Queensland based, I live in NSW and the reason I got one is because of a late fee from that stupid CityLink road in Victoria.
