    I can get it for half that price day in, day out elsewhere

      And you haven't posted it here because…?

      :P

        • I can get one like it for half that price day in, day out elsewhere

          …is what you meant?

        • +3

          Lol you would rather people look for themselves??? What the hell are you doing here.

          @Steptoe:

          If by 'one like' you mean without the BS 'Gator' branding on it, then yes

          @snagseb:

          There are roughly 4-5 main designs of cameras with some SLIGHTLY different features all based around the 96650 chip. I'd rather give people a choice as to what they might like instead of guiding them towards one model only

        • @kronicmacstigator:

          Which 4-5 devices are you talking about?

    • Pub prices don't count. Otherwise link?

    Gator wants some walkin around money

    • That page has some of the best chinglish I've seen in a while.

    G1WC 2.7 inch 1080P Novatek 96650 $54.97AUD
    Takes a 32GB microSD, records at roughly 100Mb/Min on highest setting.
    Yes its genuine - records .mov files. The fakes record in .avi
    Plenty of Youtube examples.
    Don't waste your money on anything else.
    Don't leave the SD card in your car when you're out - when its stolen thieves know where you live.

    • Good point RE the SD card but… must be a complete pain in the ass if you have to pop that in and out every time you enter/exit your car!

    • +1

      I say leave the SD card in, the thieves will know where to drop the car off when they are done joyriding in it :D

  • But….. The Novatek 96650 that's being referred to doesn't seem to have a built in GPS module or come with a memory card to get you started like the Gator does and the fact that if I got any problems with it I can just take it to my local store for a refund or exchange.

    • I can assure you the last thing us investigators need is a GPS module.

  • I will say these cameras aren't the worlds best, battery is short lived and the recycle function doesn't work properly, and it doesn't always record on power on (the last one isn't too bad if you check before going)

    Very good price for built in GPS and shock sensor with local warranty

    Having been a connoisseur of in car cameras for a while now, I've a feeling for prices on these.

    I have a G1W, it works well,
    Previously I had a few brands with/without shock and or GPS

    About a hundred AU is where the Chinese sweet spot for everything (that will last longer than a few months)

    No idea what pic quality is on this, but SOMETHING is better than nothing when someone falsely claims against you
