Any Deal of Decent Iron for Reasonable Price!

Hi Guys

Our current Iron is almost died.
Wife gave me a warning to buy a New one quickly or threatened to stop ironing my cloths :( :(
Winter is nearly ending so won't be able to wear shirts without ironing at work :) :)
So, urgently need a good iron.

Has anyone noticed any good deal for Branded (Phillips, Braun, Tefal etc) Irons recently??
If so, please share with me…… much appreciated.

Cheers

  • A few suggestions:
    a) Go online and work out what sort of iron you want and go to somewhere like Myer and have a good look at the irons and how they feel in your hand and compare the features. Discuss their recommendation and the best price they can give. (They are usually OK with price matching if you find something cheaper online from a comparable store)
    b) Find out if you have an outlet centre near your place and find out what they charge for the irons; they usually only have a 12 month warranty and may be reconditioned ones. (There is a Breville place in Smith St in Fitzroy that also has Philips irons, including the continuous steam ones).

The last iron I bought was a Terfal one - the decider was that the steam trigger was under the handle rather than on the top of the iron; I just found it better ergonomically.

    Best of luck.

    • Thank you mate for your suggestions….. will search around then :)
yeah…. I also found that Tefal makes quality irons - longs lasting and better performance.
So, possibly will concentrate on that one.
      Cheers….

  • +1

Have you considered a bigger steam station? As a man who with far too many business shirts and slacks to deal with, this is one investment I'm glad I made. I paid $129 for a Phillips one at Myer on sale and it was worth every cent and cut my ironing time in half (seriously, this thing is brilliant).

Might be worth a few extra $$ if you can stretch the budget so you spend less time using it later. I'll keep an eye out for any specials over the next few days.

    • Thanks for your recommendation mate……I got your point but I hardly iron my cloths. My wife does that job for me :) and she doesn't like that big steam station for some reason. She prefers trendy and light iron… so let it be then.

      Thank You

  • I'm also looking for a new iron, no good deals at the moment from what I can see. I went in to a few stores with the intention of buying an iron but after using a steam station I wont be buying an plain iron. Just waiting for a decent deal to come up.

  • You should consult your wife as to what she finds best, since she irons your clothes for you. You're a lucky man!

  • How did you go OP
