Etihad is having a quick Spring Sale, with excellent prices for travel to Europe, for example:

  • Brisbane to Rome from $1289
  • Brisbane to Paris from $1306
  • Brisbane to Zurich from $1276

Specials are also available from Melbourne, Sydney, etc.

Interestingly, I could find some connections that even better via Webjet, that didn't come up on the Etihad website. I also checked Virgin Australia and depending on your choices you might be able to find a cheaper fair through them (it will still be an Etihad flight).

Safe Travels!

Thanks! Was looking at the Emirates sale and found this one instead - better dates and cheaper prices. Got the perfect connection via Webjet as well!

Dont webjet charge a ton of fees?

    • $50 in my case, which is not much for a more convenient flight.

  • Try Flight Centre to beat Webjet by $1. Even better if you have discounted FC gift cards from this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/200926

  • Whats the status earn for say Brisbane - Zurich for the $12xx flights ?

      140 on the saver seats.

      • Thanks…..blimey, not a lot for 2 long haul segments…..SQ gives 240 SC for HBA-MEL-SIN-HKG return for around $1k mark

Well you're comparing T and Y fare classes there. You'd be raking in 280 SC for $1600~ return, so if you fork the extra $400 for a Y/B fare, you're gonna double you're SC generation.

TBH, i've found for SC generation VA/SQ via Perth on L class is the best, you get 160 SC for $800 (which is about $5 per SC). You can do better, AA F class from DCA to MCO via MIA for example is 240 SC for about $720 (which is $3 per SC), but realistically the best thing is not to sign up to an Australian award program, and sign up to Singapore for Skyteam miles and AAdvantage/Emirates for Oneworld. Both allow you to buy miles and this is by far the best way to fly F and A class fares on the cheap.

          Hope this helps.

  • Expedia and Kayak have more combinations than the Etihad site
Not much joy for Adelaide though and its pretty weak you cant do a multi city search on Virgin international

  • These sample bookings are even cheaper from BestJet.com
    Sydney to Dublin 02/11 - 12/11 $1162
    Perth to Dublin 18/10 - 9/11 $1081
