Suggest insurance for overseas visitors (non working visa)

Hello bargainers,
I am looking for health insurance for my parents who will be visiting us(from a country with no reciprocal health arrangements with Oz) this September.My dad had a cardiac arrest 19 years back,barring that they are in the pink.Does anyone know if previous cardiac arrest is considered as existing ailment? Can any one suggest a good insurance product.

Thanks in Advance.

    just recommend they buy a travel insurance policy like every other holidaymaker does (or rely on their platinum/gold credit card travel insurance allowances).

    they'll need to buy it in their home country (wherever that is - you haven't given us that information so its difficult to recommend anything)

    Cardiac arrest is probably a red flag. for example, I've had good experiences claiming with world nomads. They say a pre-existing condition includes

    any medical condition, currently ongoing or experienced at any time in the past, involving your back, neck, brain, heart, circulatory system or respiratory system, or cancer;

    You'll either have to find one with a definition that is different, or find one willing to let you pay extra to cover it.

    … start Googling

    Check out www.hif.com.au, they have health insurance for international cover. I had to source some similar insurance a couple of years ago for an international visitor and found them to be best bang for buck in terms of price and what they cover. They're a WA company but will cover anyone and everyone no matter what state in Oz they'll be visiting.

    Edit: depending on the length of visit and which country they are coming from, it may even work out better or cheaper for them to just get their own travel insurance in their country before they come. Of course if it's going to a long visit then it may work out to be super expensive and while the products on offer by Australian companies aren't exactly cheap, they might be cheaper.
