"We encourage people to come and use this offer."

Assuming this is legit, great post / attitude OP!

The bloke at the "Godfrey's" around the corner from you on High Street said to me a few weeks ago (when I was in there using their '$10 free' voucher and I commented that it was great that no minimum spend was required):

"If you decide you're going to give something away, you should always do it with good grace, and with no strings attached"

It seems you also subscribe to this wise philosophy. I reckon the strategy will work well re raising awareness of your place, if your food is good. Don't expect a flood of repeat customers in the week after the 24th or anything, because the actual effect of these sorts of promotions generally takes a few weeks to 'trickle down' (quite a bit of it is based on word-of-mouth; i.e. the peeps who use the voucher and liked your food/service tell peeps about it, and these peeps rock up in the fullness of time)…

I reckon it will work though.

        Best of luck!

        • Thanks for positive gesture. Really appreciate your nice comment.

  • is there any bar-code for the printout ? or can we show in our mobile ?

did any one actually used it ? are they nice to you or did they ask you too many questions ?

    • No bar-code. Just Print out of the offer will do :). No questions asked. :) Just come along with the offer and we will be more than happy to serve you. :)

  • The coffee and food are great and I highly recommended for those who have not yet tried. However, we need more variety and a little cheaper in price.

I visited on Saturday and used this voucher (which was accepted graciously/with a smile as promised by the OP), and I can highly recommend this place if you're after a coffee and/or something sweet to eat. Really nice atmosphere and staff, very clean, in a quiet area… it would always be easy to park when visiting! So if you're looking for somewhere to head to for a 'quiet coffee' after the madness that is shopping at the Preston market, this joint would be a good option; because it's about a 1-minute drive down the road, but just far enough from the market that there will always be plenty of unrestricted parking around it.

If I may make a suggestion for your consideration OP (it's not 'advice', because I know nothing about the industry), perhaps some people might appreciate a bit more savoury stuff being offered (beyond the pre-heated homemade pies/sausage-rolls). For an operation of the cosy/small size you have going on there, obviously the best strategy would be to do this without ever cooking up stuff in advance that may or may not ever actually get ordered/sold; i.e. stuff that can be stored until it is sold.

For example, you could offer a "Creamy [whatever veggie you like] soup with a sliced toasted roll". Offering this would only require making a big batch of the 'base' (essentially the pureed veggie) and freezing it in little portions that equate to the amount required for 1 serve, and also freezing alongside each soup portion a pre-sliced roll (frozen straight after it was bought fresh). Then when it is ordered, thaw the stock veggie puree, and add everything else to it; that is, the fresh cream that you will always have on-site because you serve a lot of fresh coffees and baked desserts, and any herbs/salt/pepper that you deem fit, and toast up the roll for a few minutes.

This way, you could offer a delicious soup-with-toasted-roll option (or two), without worrying about anything going to waste (including your cash outlay) if it is not ordered much at first/takes a while to 'take off'. It would require some cooking onsite though; so if you're not into that or any regulations you're bound by do not allow, I guess it's not a goer.

Maybe you won't need to do this though… I mean, no one goes to 'Coco Black' (for example) for anything savoury! LoL… I just thought I'd mention it because when I dropped in (~13:30 on Saturday) all your tables were completely occupied, yet there was nothing savoury at all available for anyone who might have wanted that. So having some sort of savoury option may be good, if for example there's a group of five and one of them is not a 'sweet-tooth'.

Anyways, it's a great little place you have set up there, and if the atmosphere/'buzz' (and the number of customers!) I saw there on Saturday afternoon continues happening into the future, you'll be fine.
