Youtube Gaming is Now Live

https://gaming.youtube.com/

Seems pretty great. I think I've watch more live video game stream in the last 12 hours, than I ever have on Twitch. The reason being that it's more convenient and it is linked to your Google/Youtube account. Android app works great(very similar to youtube app)

It's available everywhere youtube is available. Not sure how it compares to twitch, but its looking really good.

Google is a divison of Alphabet: https://abc.xyz/

        • Yeah I know, he seems annoyed that Google(not Alphabet) is not being "innovative".

He must be really impressed with Youtube Gaming, even though technically it's still in beta.

Oh right. I thought you meant "Is Alphabet a twitch user?" rather than "Oh, Cheap Charlie is a twitch user".

          The derp is strong today.

Doesn't really matter who does it first, is who does it best that will count otherwise we'd all be using Atari's to game on.

Lol, Alphabet would be pleased and proud that Google is trying to win back users, because you know Youtube never included live streaming or videos.

    • Seems like you have an odd idea of the history of google and its products/services. The company itself started by redoing something that had already been done before in search engines, and many of their major products now such as android, google docs, google maps, youtube etc are either redoing an existing concept or were bought from another company. Google is definitely very willing to innovate and try new things, but its not like that's all they do or have done.

        • They are definitely well behind Twitch right now. It will be interesting to see if they are trying to bring over any of the big streamers to their system or if they are trying to get youtubers to stream for them. Hard to imagine people switching if their favorite streamers are still with Twitch

Hm. Haven't tried it yet, but their servers should be better than Twitch. Twitch on source/high (sometimes medium) stops to buffer every few seconds, while using a fraction of my available downstream.

I'm still waiting for the YouTube Music Key, though.

Try using Livestreamer with the twitch GUI, it solves that problem. I used to have to watch on medium and I can now watch on source without any problems. It also runs it through VLC instead of flash so it's less processor/memory intensive.
