Looking for Samsung Galaxy S2 battery

Hey Ozbargainers
I am looking for a good Samsung Galaxy S2 battery.
Ive heard that the Samsung 2000mAh extended battery was good, but I can't find any in Australia. Same with Anker 1900mAh.
Are there any other good non OEM batteries?
If not, then where do a buy a genuine Samsung battery? (since there are a lot of fakes out there, especially eBay)

Comments

  • I bought two from an Australian ebay seller saying they were 100% genuine authentic Samsung batteries. After they arrived they had the same serial number. Weren't very good either.

  • I've also heard good things about the "Mugen" brand extended batteries.

    • They're good too, except they are quite pricey if you sourced them from MugenPower. I had one in my old Acer Liquid Metal.

There are quite a few sites now stocking Mugenpower cells but it's hard to tell which exactly is the real deal.

    • Feedback does not seem to be too positive. There are quite a few fakes of the aftermarket these days :(

    • I had an MPJ battery for my LG optimus 4x HD for 8 months… I thought the back cover had lost it's ability to latch properly on the phone, but it turned out that the battery had swollen and expanded about 3mm in height!

If I hadn't noticed sooner the expanded battery may actually have damaged my phone and in worse case scenario started venting. You don't want a lithium battery to vent:

  • Will second scrimshaw on the Anker S2 battery. Good quality replacements.
I wish they sell 2X lots of S4 batteries, saves on shipping and cost :P

Does anyone know if there is anyway to tell Genuine batteries on ebay? Yes, I know its plagued with fakes on ebay.
Such as this one, NFC enabled. Still cheaper than to buy one unit from Ankor America.

    Thanks

  • (Probably I'm bit late to give my experience, anyway here it goes)

I purchased a battery for a Samsung nexus one from ebay a couple of years ago, and it just killed the phone!
After that, I only buy genuine phone batteries.

A couple of months ago, I had to replace a battery for my boy's galaxy s2, and this time I ordered genuine like one (I don't believe product images on web sites) from fixmyapple.com.au - it was only $14.85 and free shipping.

When I received it, I was ready to return it if it is not genuine. Amazingly it was genuine at that price! So there you go, fixmyapple.com.au
