microSD cards

Hi OB,

I am looking for a cheap but genuine branded 16gb micro SD card for my phone. Does anyone know where in Sydney or online I can get one for a good price?

Thank you in advance,

Hey edwink, just becareful because many phones won't accept more than 1-2GB micro SD cards. You may need to check specs just to make sure.

EDIT: http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=16gb+micro+… looks like $55 would be a cheap price. Have a look on 9289 too, they have free shipping

  • Thanks Davo, I'll have a look around the sites u suggested.

  • I got the 8GB Sandisk for $23 recently, thanks to Officeworks 5% price-beat of the local computer store (Umart). It's probably not a big concern, but if your phone is older there is a chance it won't take Micro SDHC but only Micro SD, so you may just want to double check that first.

If you didn't get one yet then ShoppingSquare has the 16GB for $50 now (SDHC of course)… pretty good deal I think

  • MSY are reasonably cheap, $58-$65.

  • Hi all,

I've got a Nokia 5800, which is rated to 16 GB (with discussions that 32 GB should be theoretically possible, just that no one's got any 32 GB cards to try it with).

    1. I'm wondering if a class 6 card would be better for playback of movies on the phone (eg 640*300 @ 30fps)?

    2. Also, has anyone tried the Team or generic branded 16GB Class 6 microSDHC cards?

    3. Does anyone know if any stores actually have a 16GB Class 6 microSDHC card in stock? (I know some list +ve stocks, but so far, the ones I've tried, turned out to have inaccurate info on their websites)
