    Price on the title please

  • Thanks OP, so many choices!
From cheapy $3 HPM to decent $10-$20 with surge and USB ports.

  • Those Jackson USB ports are useless for tablets. 1A will take forever to charge.

    • then buy the ones with 2.1A chargers installed.

      • Those are about 5x the price

Use the AC adaptor that came with the tablet?

  • Im looking at getting this http://www.dicksmith.com.au/filters-surge-protectors/surge-i….

    any first hand experiences?

    • It's ok, the curved shape makes some of my outlets disconnect easily if knocked.

    • I got two in one of the previous deals (it's been posted on ozbargain a few times) and I've had zero problems with the one I've used (the other is still in its box… Oops). Had a TV, PS4, PS3, Wii, Wii U, WDTV device and hard drives plugged into it all day every day for about two years. A couple of blackouts and several brownouts in that time, but everything has been fine.
The connected equipment warranty definitely makes this worth it! Haven't had to make a claim, but hopefully it would be hassle-free.

      • Response time is not stated, aside from that, it's probably pretty good, given the connected equipment warranty, they trust in the board to sacrifice itself/cutover in event of a major surge.

      • Would you recommend this model over something like this: http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.… ? No idea what I should be looking for.

    • I've had two of those for about 5 years and 3 of the black ones for a while too. Been very happy with them, all still working and so is everything that's been powered by them.

  • What's a decent brand / price?

Belkin. Lifetime warranty including board replacement when the board sacrifices itself to save your equipment. $50-60.

They also have the cool rotating plugs these days.

Bought something from dick 3 weeks ago for click and collect. Never got any alerts for pickup. Then went in to enquire and was told one of the item is out of stock even though the website says it had stock. Said they would give me a call when new stock arrive in a couple of days. It's now been a week still nothing. So much dicking around

    • yeah i had that happen to me, I got an email saying ready for pick up and then when I went, they were like 'sorry lol our stock levels are at -50'. So why did they email me at all??? The guy said he'd tell me when they would get stock but they never did get any (not just that store, nationwide as well) and they decided to issue a refund.

So they were selling shit that didn't exist.

      • I prefer non-existant shit over real shit any day :)

  • Grabbed one at bunnings for an extra 10% off!
