Where to Buy Long Male Shirts?

I was wondering where to buy longer shirts. I have the issue that whilst I am above average height (~185cm), I have a longer torso and shorter legs. This means that clothes designed for the general population don't properly fit me so that shirts are always a little too short. Pants are easy, I either get the short variation or hem them myself; shirts on the other hand are more fickle. With many brands it seems like they are all the same length and the only difference when you go up in size is that they get wider. I have noticed that some Bonds t-shirts also get longer when you go up a size, does anyone know any other brands that do that too?

  • You might have to buy a size up and then get the shirt tailored to fit.

Yeah, but the issue is that for most stores the larger shirts just get larger in diameter, not length

while expensive I find ralph Lauren clothes longer than usual, think its an American thing

    • Thanks for that, I'll check out Ralph Lauren

    • Yes, go for American. You can also select the sleeve length for dress shirts. The sleeves are generally longer for polos etc.

Take a trip abroad to Bali or Thailand & have a major lot made to measure - enough to last for a long time - then repeat the process. If they are for business you could also claim back on tax.
Also Debenhams in the U.K. always used to do longer sizes - www.debenhams.com.uk. - they also provide free shipping.

As Colour for long tshirts. Custom made shirts from somewhere like pickashirt.com (or other online tailor).
Once you go custom you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

    J. Crew have tall sizing with length on the torso and longer sleeves for the lanklets out there.

As far as Tshirts go, I've found that length/shape varies considerably from season to season.

I just try on a lot of stuff and always buy when something fits within my price range…

    Im athletic 197cm.

I have the same problem at 187cm long torso short legs. Tried many brands, many wiggle out throughout the day but Charles tyrwhitt are long enough and never come out.

I've noticed more and more places stocking 'long' tees lately. On the cheaper end, Cotton On and YD both have them. Cotton On is usually 2 for $30 and YD had them on special for $15.

"The Long Tee" at YD and
"The other: Long crew" at Cotton On

Fantastic. T-shirts tend to be the worst for length, at least business shirts can be tucked in.

  • I don't recall the sites now, but there are a couple in the USA where you can enter measurements, and the first shirt is either free, or very cheap. Just do a search for "online tailoring first shirt free" I guess.

ctshirts.com.au have very long business shirts. I'm 2m tall and get the extra slim with long arms. I don't have an issue with shrinking shirts or coming untucked.

  • Hubby has a similar dilemma buying clothes (plus also requires longer sleeve lengths like 94).

For business shirts he finds charles tyrwhitt shirts have good lengths (plus he gets the custom sleeve lengths as well and prefers the french cuffs option). He has some Van Heusen plain white shirts that said Longer Length on the packaging which are OK in length but he doesn't like the sleeve lengths . BTW, we found only 2 shirts at DJs that said Longer Length, both white. Also, he has settled for CT suits for readymade suits with suitable lengths and sleeves.

As for casual polos and tshirts, he still struggles to find anything suitable. Sometimes we find a tshirt at target that is longer but they are not really that good quality (or design!). Wearing XL and XXL looks so shabby. Will be following this thread with interest.

    • Polos and tshirts are a nightmare. I recently got 7 polos from The Iconic and had to send back 5 immediately. Whilst they give the length on the site, it is not always true. I would love a reliable source of long slim polos and ts too.
