Wow. Trading card obsession has gone too far.
People, they are like frequent flyer points. So trivial that they are useless!
The $97.11 (US) I have received from selling these cards/emotes/backgrounds begs to differ. 1000 @ ~10 cents each makes $100, average about 4 cards per game means only need 250 games to earn that much, which is a library size that many people have. It may be trivial values but it's a lot of trivial values.
What time was required to earn that?
I'm older. Good job. So perhaps it's a matter of perspective.

Took none of my time, I don't even download these free games. I just idle them while I do other things. The PC would have been on anyway, and it's not actually 'gaming' so the power usage won't have changed.
I am even older. Retired on a good pension. I find Steam Trading Cards to be a lot of fun. Perspective indeed.
