    • $50 OPTUS 4G 8gbs?

Lebara = Be prepared to wait a minimum of 15 min before you can speak to a human if you need to contact support.

    • faster then optus. i been on hold for a hr each time so far

      • I concur, Optus hold times are a joke.

  • Lebara National Plan $29.90 - Get 4.5GB data

    4.5GB (2.5GB + 2GB BONUS)

Is the 2gb Bonus just for one month, or ongoing?

    • No details on their site other than 2GB Bonus for "auto recharge".
Wonder if this is every month, wold be awesome value.

    • Thanks davedrastic. The 2GB bonus data is valid for each recharge within the auto top up promotion period. This promotion started in July 2015. For our customers who setup auto top up in July, they are now enjoying their 3rd month of an additional 2GB of data.

      • OK, so, I were to go ahead at this stage, then it would be an additional 2gb of data moving forward each month on an ongoing basis? There's no 3 month limit, 6 month limit etc etc

        • Hi davedrastic, You will receive the 2GB bonus data on each recharge (every 30 days) when you use auto recharge for the duration of this promotion. The promotion is still valid and an end date has not yet been announced.

As this is a prepaid SIM with no contract, Lebara does not grandfather plans, everyone has the same price. Refer www.lebara.com.au

        • @Outthere:

Oh. Well to be honest that's a bit silly. You're not being clear with your promotions. We could get the bonus GB for one month or 100 months. No one knows. It's all a big mystery.

I think you probably need to tighten things up because you can't go around misleading people.

        • Hi davedrastic. Thanks for the frank feedback. We have stated that the 2GB bonus data is a promotion for auto recharge only. We are not intending to mislead any customer as we refer to the core plan inclusion on 2.5GB and apologise to you if you feel that way.

        • @Outthere:

          Hi there,

TBH it doesn't matter how I feel about it, it does, however, matter how the Dept of Fair Trading feels about it should someone refer the matter to them.

You're using a promotion which is not clear. Is that likely to mislead?

          Of course it is.

So…if I were you I'd sort it out. But hey, I'm not you, so go for your life.

  • Thanks for the feedback sridhar. We have experienced very high new customer query volumes and apologise to you for this. Another option is our livechat feature https://lebara.ehosts.net/netagent/cimlogin.aspx?questid=2DF…

    • This is during July.

Also Lebara was not able to port the number in from Amaysim. After several repeated frustrating wait times and futile assurances (case # 52277 and 52292) and more than a week of being w/o working mobile connection, we went to Optus and their rep was helpful and sorted out the issue.

      • Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. Would you like one of Customer Service officers to call you back today and try again?

  • they can't port properly; unless you are already eith them

    • Hi Brainwhacker, If you wish to follow up, one of Customer Service officers to call you to work through any questions that you have. Or kindly call 1300 126 122.

Seems like the best value for money or am I missing something ?

Unlimited calls/text + 2.5 GB data for $30 a month ? The closest I see Optus $30 and that is only 1 GB data. On TPG $18 a month currently ($550 worth of calls, 1 GB data and international credit) but looking to switch.

I see I can order it online but how do I go about porting my number ?

    • Hi rohan16,

To register for Auto Recharge, follow these easy steps:

      Log in to My Lebara
      Select Auto Recharge
      Enter your card details
Tick the checkbox and select Register Card
Scroll down to Scheduled Auto Recharge and
      Enter Start Date
      Tick the checkbox
      Select Plan
That’s it! You will receive an SMS confirming Auto Recharge setup. If you encounter any difficulties, please contact our call centre on 126 122

      • Uhm, I was actually asking about how I go about porting my number. Not really worried about the bonus atm.

        • I would've thought that the porting process would only commence once you have received the starter pack and wish to activate it. Purchasing a starter pack is independent of the number to be associated with that SIM.

        • @KaptnKaos:

I'm not sure of how it works. Do I need to cancel my TPG first or let that be active and then when I go to activate the Lebara one I check the box of wanting to port my number and that will automatically cancel my TPG one ? Haven't done it in a long time !

        • +1

Hi rohanp16, When you have a Lebara SIM you will need to activate it. During the activation process which you can do on-line or via our call centre (1300 126 122), you can complete the port process. If your existing service is prepaid then your phone number and DOB is required. If your existing service is postpaid then your phone number and account number is required. The port process should automatically cancel your TPG service. TPG should then send you a final invoice (assuming post paid).

    • Try Vodafone PP ; $30 pm 3gb, unlimited local, 300 min overseas calls plus txt, you will have to call supprt

      • Wow, that would be an awesome deal ! I'll try it out. Any specific number/other tips ?

  • I see alot of people porting out once the bonus data promotion is finished i know i will.

If you buy a 12 month prepaid sim it states 2gb bonus data so will this be for the 12 months or only untill the promotion ends ?

    • It will be for 12 months go to whirlpool there is a long thread about it.

  • Hi outthere I saw this thing called lebara plus. Have you got info about it?

  • Had problems porting from Lebara to Kogan.

    Port initiated 12:13AM 16 Apr 2016, then rejected 6mins later at 12:19AM.

Lebara Joe ref# 4131204 confirmed DOB for prepaid all correct, terminated status was incorrectly applied to outgoing service.

Port repeat request on 10:06AM 17 Apr 2016 created by Kogan Musean ref# 200524 and Vishaal ref# 200617, then rejected 3mins later at 10:09AM. Then account activated 10:12AM, BUT no signal connected to inserted SIM card.

Self fixed problem but the terminated status is concerning for anyone porting out of Lebara.

    • 1) Before porting, call Lebara (1300) 126 122, customer rep (option 5, twice), and ask your DOB be updated to the backend porting system database, otherwise your port request will be rejected.

Personal details are are not automatically updated for porting out, and need to be manually actuated by an operator.

Internet connectivity will also be barred until midnight of that day. Ensure internet APN settings are correct according to your handset and carrier as specified on this informative website. So step one must be done prior to 8pm, then internet will activate after midnight.
