New Moto 360 or Huawei Watch? Where to get in Australia?

So I've decided I'm finally gonna jump on the smartwatch bandwagon. The new Moto 360 and Huawei Smartwatch were announced today, both of which should be available within the next month in the US. Anyone know any details about getting either here in Australia? I guess the most extreme option would be to somehow import one, but given the extremely poor exchange rate that would probably not be wise.

I am leaning towards the Moto 360, given the steep price point for the Huawei Watch, though they both look stunning.

  • From personal experience last time around with the first Moto 360, Motorola weren't too vocal with their plans and it just showed up one day in store at JBHiFi's nationally, so ahhhhhh good luck there!

Love my Moto 360 though and would definitely recommend getting one, although I must admit I haven't looked into these new ones much (trying to avoid the upgrade!!).

Yeah I had left notes with JB, HN and TGG to call me when they got stock in. I just called up a random store one day to see if they were getting in the G Watch R and they mentioned that they had the 360 in stock, completely unannounced. I think I got one of the first 20 in Victoria or something purely by luck.

Motorola AUS are completely inept at marketing and distribution IMO

  • I like the Huawei more but price is a discouragement, my smart phone cost $400 average and I will not pay same price for a smart watch, will consider when price is $200.

  • hey have you gotten one yet?

    • Nah, probably gonna wait for a decent moto 360 first gen deal to come out (<$160). I don't think it's worth forking out over $450 for the second gen moto 360. The Huawei watch will cost even more so I won't get that either. I might wait and see how much the Gear S2 goes for though, that looks like it could be an interesting watch.

      • yeah fair enough it is quite steep and the Huawei watch is going for $549 at harvey norman hahaha but I had a 1st gen moto 360 and you should know the battery life is as bad as they say…

        • Even with the update?

        • I find it to be just as good if not better than they say…
1.5-2 days with tilt to wake and WiFi enabled! Love mine :)
