Dyson DC23 Turbine or Turbine Plus

Hiyas,

I'm in the market for a Dyson DC23 Turbine or Turbine Plus (preferable the Plus as I need the hard floor tool). Contact is no good as I want it to pick up pet hair and the Motorhead is prolly overkill and the weight is likely difficult for my wife to handle.

Best price I've seen on the Turbine is $700 from Clive Peeters and $800 on the Turbine Plus from Bing Lee. I reckon they could definitely do better… I'm kicking myself that I didn't load up on Myer gift cards when they were offering the 10% bonus, but you know what they say about hindsight.

Any suggestions/leads?

    I'm sure you could get a cheaper price.

    Cheapest on ShopBot is $623 + $30 delivery (advertised free delivery to some areas)

      Thanks, I've done a fair bit of googling and haven't seen much better. The $623 is for the Contact model which isn't the one I'm after.

      Best deal I've heard of so far is $665 for the DC23 Turbine with hard floor tool at Good Guys. But that's from a forum, not an advertised price.

        I bought a DC08 HEPA telescopic from HN 3-4 years ago, and it's still great.

        The turbine head will certainly do the job to pick-up hair from the carpet. Good thing is the turbine comes apart for easy washing / cleaning.

    I recently bought a Dyson DC23 Turbine Plus for $683 from E&S Trading in Blackburn. Although they are currently out of stock they are still taking orders. Was the best price I found by far…

      Holy cow, that is good… pity I'm in Sydney. Freight is $38 so total price for Turbine Plus is $721 and Turbine is $649. It's great ammo for price matching at the very least, thanks for the heads up!

    I just got the DC29 from Harvey Norman for 398 (from memory).. I think they were clearing it out because it's going to be discontinued. Not really sure what the difference between the DC23 and the DC29 but it might be worth a look if they still have them in stock?

      DC29 is the entry level model and isn't quite up to scratch for my needs. Weird numbering system tho, you'd assume the higher the model number the better wouldn't you?

    Myer one day sale tomorrow (Sat) has 20% off the Myer price. don't know the price for that model but priced a DC24 and it came down to a good price (sorry, can't remember how much - but the cheapest I found on line was 535 and it was a few $$$s more than that. Cheapest seems to be to bring one back from the UK but only if you have to make the trip anyhow and not only for the purchase.

    So after much shopping around, I've found that none of the major electrical retailers in Sydney metro can match E&S Trading's price even after factoring in the freight cost…

    Best offers I got were from Bing Lee $665 for the Turbine (no hard floor tool) or $765 for the Turbine Plus. Myer said $721 is below their cost, no counter offer.

    E&S Trading here I come! Thanks again for the lead mattyt!

      I have just struck a deal with Harvey Norman in Melbourne - they are selling me: DC23ACTUSB (DC23 Turbine) for $597. You have to bargain really hard. If you still haven't bought it, then try harder….

        Hey mate,

        Thanks for sharing and congrats on getting a great price! I tried price matching with HN using the E&S special, but no one could match the price even after including freight!

        In the end I couldn't wait (dog hair was driving me nuts) so I picked up the Turbine Plus back in Jan.

        It's such a good vacuum cleaner… never thought I could appreciate it so much lol But I guess coming from a $100 CotD job, anything would be better!

        Are you sure it was the DC23ACTUSB for $597? I am going there this week. Are you able to email me a copy of your receipt? This is the best deal by far.
