Didn't Get Your OneDrive Unlimited Storage? Click Here

Hi all,

It's been almost a year since the announcement and…..my OneDrive account still 'only' shows 1.5 TB. (I haven't even begun to touch the sides of it yet…)
Anywhooo, I went looking to see what the deal is since they announced unlimited (From what I read it's really 10TB to start but you can ask for more if you need it) OneDrive storage.

Came across an official M$ support thread that stated that as per the original FAQ you have to go to this link…

https://preview.onedrive.com

…and put your name on the list to get the storage 'early'. (It's been a year….really??).

Here's the link to the FAQ:

See the 'What do I need to do to get the offer?" section.

Hope this helps others.

  • Is it truly unlimited or are there conditions aka limits attached? If I store 50 Exabytes will they say no? Can I even reach that capacity?

    • Couldn't tell you fruit. I can only go by what has been said.
It's up to the public to test the limits of an offering like this.

I CAN tell you that my personal research over the past year has confirmed that many get a 10TB bump at first.
Then, as I understand it, M$ says that if you need more, all you have to do is ask them and they'll expand the storage a bit more.

I would agree with the general thought that what M$ discovered is that most people don't use more that 10TB anyway so…they say 'Unlimited', give you that manageable chunk and wait and see what happens.

In my own case, I have about 200GB of family photos and stuff that I want to have backed up offsite.
My 5 user office 365 subscription is well worth the price just for the Onedrive storage (at the moment 5TB across all 5 accounts)
Even if I pay full pop to renew this year its MILES cheaper than anything else out there. Even cheaper still if I ask my relatives to pay for the accounts I let them use. LOL.
