Uniden UH720SX UHF Handheld Radio Single Pack $79 @ Officeworks

60

hey guys was looking through office works and founds these CB UHF radios they appear to be two watts plus they have some boost features 77 channels so they might be missing the data only channels out the 80 channel UHF band in Australia… Uniden brand i looked they are about $150 each or $299 at other aussie shops! I will put the specs here… I own a set of midland g7's and a baofeng uvb2 plus. there is not a big difference between 2 and 3 watts UHF radios from what i know! dicksmith has them for the same price so you should be okay to order two i guess…

Isn't this the same as the one below for $98 @ JB Hi-Fi

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/phones/UHF/uniden/uniden-uh720sx-n…

  • 3 of the channels are reserved for future expansion, it's not actually missing any.

Also, I think Officeworks have the model number mixed up, this looks like the NB model (UH720SX-NB). The UH720SX is the old 40 channel model that was discontinued years ago.

    • i think its 80 channels but they just say 77… i would say all as the NB is narrow band? but yea its the new models or else it would only have 40 channels

I have Midland g7's and baofeng uv5r's.uv5r price is hard to beat (and better unit than midlands in my opinion). Not sure about this model.

    • yea mate my battery in the g7 doesn't hold as much charge any more but they are getting old… my uvb2 is harder to program because there is no option in chirp for this model… do you jump on the repeater much?
      ?

      • My uv5r are programmed with cable and chirp. Easy enough. I use mine for communication in country between family, and kids like playing with them. Uv5r with Nagoya aerial works much better than stock.

        • What Antenna did the buy the 771?

Na-701, about $8 I think it was.was worried it may not work very well with our frequencies, but its much better than stock, but still nothing like my house roof mounted aerial connected to the uv5r.

        • @swimfast: thanks mate I was looking at that model for a while I will buy one
