Long Expiry Prepaid Sim - Amaysim PAYG or ALDI Mobile?

I'm switching over from the vodafone 365 days prepaid. My family have been using this plan together for free vodafone to vodafone calls ever since I got my first phone. However my brother and sister, who I call most, have stopped using vodafone because of the high calling costs. Because of this, I find it not economical to use a vodafone prepaid if I'm not making many vodafone calls.

I make on average one call a day, and I don't use mobile data, so I'm classified as a light user. I am considering either Amaysim PAYG or Aldi Mobile PAYG.

Amaysim PAYG is good because of the 4G capabilities and good value data packs, but I don't even use mobile data. (though a little bit wouldn't be bad, as long as it doesn't cost much)

Aldi Mobile PAYG is good because of the 365 day expiry, compared to Amaysim PAYG's 90 day expiry.

Are there any other good prepaid deals that have more than one month expiry? Which do you recommend and why?

  • on average one call a day,

    Duration?

    • short, around 30 seconds

  • Use amaysim PAYG postpaid. Although they mention something like a minimum $5 spend every month or every three months to maintain your number, it's never been enacted.

  • I've had both. ALDI uses the Telstra network which I found much better.

  • +1

Yatango has the cheapest PAYG call (11c/min) and SMS (9c) rates.

    Optus network. 90 day expiry.

Minimum top-up is $10 (+2% credit card fee) so you'd be up for ~$41/year minimum.

If you make one 30s call a day you'd be looking at 11c/day or $3.30/month which is roughly the $10 credit hehe.

  • If you buy your Amaysim $10 PAYG voucher from Woollworth it will last 4 months instead of 3.
