Recommendations on Wireless Dongles

So I've moved my pc to the back room now and it's messy and a hazard having an ethernet cable running down the hall so I'm considering a wireless dongle.

I don't game online any more, but I do download torrents.

Any good, cheap dongles that you guys recommend?

Thanks

For the best performance i'd recommend a PCIE card instead (for desktop, doesn't exist for laptop).

If you have a laptop then you should look into getting a mini PCI adapter (e.g Intel AC 7260)

The brand doesn't really matter, but if you are using dual band wifi for e.g you might want to have a networking card that does 5ghz dual band.
Likewise if you have a router that supports 802.11 ac then get an adapter that supports it.

    • Hey scrim, thanks for the reply. I've got a TP-Link TD-W8960N. What PCIE card would you recommend for my router?

      Thanks again.

Really doesn't matter which as you have a pretty normal 2.4ghz Wifi N router, but I'd go with TP Link WDN3800, an inexpensive dual band adapter. Sells for $39 @ MSY.

        • Thanks. I was looking at D-Link DWA-566 Dual Band Wireless-N 300M which is also $90 at MSY, but I'll go with your recommendation if it doesn't really matter.

  • Oh, that was $39, not $90
