  • Thanks. Can pick up on my way home from work.

  • Bugger, I just bought Colgate 2x 160g pack at Aldi for $5.00 this morning.
    Great price OP.

    • Was there any noticeable change when you switched?

      • -2

Yes, I feel better, and my teeth feel more solid, but that can be due to the better product I replaced it with.

Having said that, side effects from fluoride consumption are not instantaneous, so terminating use of products, which contain it, may, or may not, show immediate improvement.

    • +7

are you an anti vaccines as well?
because look at england they have no fluoride, and they also have no teeth……

      • -3

Look at the whole UK, not only the rugby team of England ;). It's not my business if they are, or not, against vaccinations.

Fluoride has nothing to do with keeping one's teeth healthy, or in place, and there is absolutely no evidence to suggest otherwise.

And if someone likes fluoride, for whatever reason, they can add it to their diet by their own choice.

        • +1

You must buy a lot of tin foil. Do some research before spreading misinformation.

        • @poop:
So I did. You better do yours, and do it well. There is absolutely no scientifically proven evidence to suggest fluoride has any benefits whatsoever.
Or, perhaps you prefer to stay as a sheep with others, and follow what you are told by the government together with the pharmaceutical manufacturers.
Then again, it is your health and your family health, in the first instance, which will be carrying the results of your choices.

You might want to start here, a US based study.

Where are you getting your information from? Completely baseless.

        • @poop:

I see you mentioned CDC, perhaps you also read this:

If the government is so interested in our dental health, why they don't add to the consumable water Xylitol, instead of the toxic fluoride?!
          http://xylitol.org/about-xylitol

        • @durendal: the issue with the links you are posting are they all are sensationalist anti fluoride sites with an agenda. Do a literature review of scientific peer reviewed articles and you will have a very different picture. Fluoride naturally occurs in many water supplies sometimes far exceeding the levels with which our water is treated. Wake and stop spreading rubbish.
Also funny that you posted the link one the neurotoxilogical effects…that article was taken so far out of context and misconstrued by anti fluoride warriors. If I recall correctly Harvard even responded directly with an editorial peice.

        • @poop:
:) every site has got an agenda, whether you like it or not.
I have done plenty of research, and hence improved my dental health in to such a degree, that I prevented couple of my teeth being extracted, after being pronounced by couple of independent dentists as lost teeth.
Stopping the use of toothpastes with fluoride was part of my treatment, which is still ongoing. I can tell you I used to use these regularly and the positive effect was nonexistent. That's my personal finding.
Thanks for your shared view, and I let you keep your opinion, as you are allowed to have it as much as I am allowed to have mine.
See you around and happy OZbargaining.

        • @durendal: I respect that, you have your right to your opinion. But please do not mistake the references you posted as equivalents to peer reviewed research. The problem with posting your experience (where n = 1) with fluoride is that the science supports its use and you are dismissing it based on something which has so many confounding variables you could not even begin to determine the cause. For example, the dentists you visited could have decided to extract the tooth based on a 95% it would eventually die. By chance your tooth survived, nothing to do with the use of fluoride. Stopping the use of fluoride would not have such an immediate effect on the state of your teeth. It would take years for that to be apparent. In summary, spreading fear based on unfounded claims and without scientific backing is dangerous, consider the anti-vaccs. Fluroide is on a much lesser scale in terms of directly endangering lives. But you are not doing anyone any good by spreading these claims.
I challenge you, if you're so passionate about this, to do some real research and educate your self on fluoride and its effects. Look for articles that have been published in high impact factor academic journals. If I were you I'd be dismissing anything that is simply posted on a webpage.
Anyways, I wish you all the best.

Is it MADE IN THAILAND or CHINA?

    • Does it matter?

      • +2

Yes it does matter. Quality matters!

    • +2

Yes, unfortunately it turns out it's made in China. They don't state that on the web site.

      • +2

        Buy at your own peril

      • Nice, melamine based tooth paste, just what I was after.

  • Medicare details for a couple of tubes of paste, thanks but no thanks..

    • These details are not required (no asterix)

  • Is it a gel or "normal", OH is picky!

    • Got the answer, normal toothpaste

  • +2

You can usually get these sized toothpastes at the Reject Shop for $1 or $2. I bought a couple of spearmint Oral B toothpastes when they were $1 each last month. It's either made in China or Vietnam.

  • +1

    Made in China

  • +1
