Account Charged for a Booking.com Reservation

Hey Guys,

I'm in a bit of a dilemma right now.

I reserved a hotel room for a couple of days on Saturday and it has around 15 days for free cancellation. My plans has since changed and I've cancelled the booking. But apparently, they've charged my debit card before I cancelled. At the time of booking, their policy was to charge when I get there and I'm worried about the fact that they've charged my card now.

In any case, how do I recover my money? I've dropped a message to booking.com about this and awaiting their reply.

    See what booking.com say and also contact the hotel, if you get no where; contact your bank.

      Give Booking.com a call. I've spoken to them on the phone and they've been super helpful.

    Not really a dilemma if you haven't even got a reply from booking.com

  • Cover your back and take a screen capture of where it says you are entitled to free cancellation.

    People are so quick to panic these days. Calm down & eat cake.

    • I agree, unfortunately it was a significant amount so only natural I guess ;)

  • Did the same and got my deposit refunded a few days later.
