Best Place to Sell Jewellery

Gday my furry lil friends,

There was a topic on here for best place to buy jewellery previously but nothing i could find about selling.

I have an old engagement ring worth a few grand and i would like to sell it (not trade, sell for cash) without getting ripped off like a mug. I wonder if anyone can offer advice as to what the best way to go about this would be ?

    Read this choice article. Makes a lot of sense.

    I grew up watching my mum trading gold in BIG jewellery shops all the time, Asked staff or watched sign of daily selling price and purchase price of gold. If you are happy with the gold price, they will weigh the article and tell your breakdown of its gold price, add labour if you are buying a jewellery. Not sure now, shops (in Chinatown) used to.buy gold but only 24 carats (real gold).
