The price sounds good , but sadly , the movie doesn't hold a candle against the original Avengers :(

Big W has the DVD for $15, the Blu Ray for $25 and the 3D Blu Ray for $28.

I really wanted to see the film but was worried about a number of people on this site who apparently didn't like it. So I rented the Blu Ray for $1.95 last night at Blockbuster (they told me I hadn't been there since 2011, hah). I loved the movie, and am contemplating picking up a copy to keep at some point when the prices are lower. All the new Marvel Cinematic Universe films seem to have excellent replay value.

    • Big W has it for $14.90 =P

Watching a blockbuster action movie full of special effects just doesn't cut it on DVD any more methinks.

    • nothing like buying a ultra-slim 4K TV, because a Harvey Norman ad said so, then playing back a 576p DVD on it! lol

  • I work in the industry and you will be surprised just how many DVD's will sell at this introduction price. Even if the retailers makes no money (or lose money) from the sales, the spike in foot traffic offsets any losses.

    • At the manufacturing level, the most expensive part of a DVD is the plastic case.

The cost is less than $1.50 for the tangible product.

  • I'm just amazed DVDs still cost this much. Who is paying so much money for SD?

On ebay, when 2nd hand, the blu-ray often sells for less than a DVD! I don't know how that is possible in 2015, yet it does.
