How do you guys rate yourselves against X Arcade stick?

    • Our joysticks are made from black matt acrylic sheets and meranti wood, and all parts are Japanese.

      • +5

translation: black matt acrylic sheets and meranti wood/10

      • +2

Translation: I prefer the X Arcade myself, so I will avoid the question and just answer with something random.

        • Lol thanks for that translation

  • +3

at this price if u include sanwa buttons as well then its deal…otherwise no.

    • +2

OP mentions that it is Sanwa parts…. I would be guessing they would mainly be buttons.

    • The Joystick is Sanwa

    • Too cheap for Sanwa buttons, my buttons are also made in Japan.

  • +2

Recycling an old post I made regarding Sanwa. TLDR, Sanwa buttons are simply a better experience for gamers who are serious about their fighting games.

I own both the official TE (Tournament Edition) and Mayflash, and I can tell you that there is definitely a difference if you're after performance.

TE uses Sanwa parts, as others have said, they are the official suppliers of the authentic arcade experience - The buttons are very responsive and light to produce an action. This is essential for linking combos and ensuring that your moves comes out when you want. You'll get the same responsive feel from the TE joystick.

The Mayflash, however, is clunky and is therefore more difficult to link your combinations. It feels as though you have to make an active effort to push each button, and it is as a result not as responsive. The joystick has a dead zone (remember the oldschool 64 controllers, and after how extensive usage the joystick would just lose their firmness), and this just adds to the clunkiness of the product.

For casual play, just go the Mayflash - If you want you can replace the parts in the future with Sanwa buttons. You can definitely find a TE for 90, but if your budget is just 20 you haven't got many options.

  • +3

if you dont play fighting games then its fine without sanwa parts…otherwise must be full sanwa…no excuse.

  • +1

the mayflash is so easy to replace parts just swap and go…popular choice for modding

  • Would make a great add on for my retropie

  • Hi all,

Our Japanese buttons are large, stylish with the double translucent design. Also they use real stainless steel springs where as some other buttons using rubber under a switch layout like the old computer keyboards which can break very easily.

    Thanks,

At least not blatant spam like your last post, but at this price it's still not a deal for essentially a home made joystick with cheap parts plus a Sanwa joystick.

    • First of all, my joysticks are not home made and it's Australian factory made and the components are all Japanese made.

      • +5

What's the address of the "factory"?

      • +1

if your joystick is sanwa then it is NOT Australian factory made, Sanwa is Japanese.

        • We import the Sanwa Joystick from Japan to Australia

        • @customarcades:
Oh OK sorry I get it now.
          Genuine 100% Australian imported.

  • -5

Sorry, we don't give the factory address, because we don't have a retail shop.

  • +6

    |$119.95 (Normally $150)|
    Should be reworded to:

now just overpriced at $119.95 (Normally outrageously priced at $150)

    • -3

just because you can't sell at $150 and others can sell at $150. THIS IS YOUR PROBLEM.

  • +10

If you are after a PS3 or PC arcade stick. Get the HORI Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 from gamesmen $99.95 plus shipping (postage $10 for me)
Hori is one of the world's best arcade stick manufacturers. ALL components are SANWA and the PCB is known to be very reliable. See shoryuken forums.MWave are still advertising it for $250.

Better price, better quality, known seller and backed up warranty. No brainer. Sorry OP. No deal.

See link for the real deal.

    $99.95 plus shipping.

    • sold!

    • -2

Apparently, my friend brought one of those Hori Ultimate Joystick you are referring to and the quality is cheap and super crap, because the buttons using rubber switches instead of using micro switches.

That's why it breaks and my friend had to get a full refund as this wasn't the quality he was expecting so instead he brought one of my joystick which is Australian factory made and all parts are imported from Japan for the professional gaming quality.

      • I actually have this fightstick. It is heavy and takes my rage quit love taps fine. Though I personally haven't had it for long. Nor am I a professional. This product has been out for quite a while. The review history on most fighting game forums can attest to it being of superior quality.
Its ALL SANWA. Square gate on the stick too if that is what you are after. Exactly what they use in the arcades.
Buttons feel perfect to me. No stick, smooth action. Read every input.
Though I cant comment on what spring action it uses. It sounds like you are getting a little salty about your 'deal' being called out for not being a deal.
The only complaint this HORI gets is about the button placement. Which comes down to personal preference.
The PCB is also easy to mod… apparently.
        What PCB do you use?

        • -3

All I can tell you it's from Japan.

        • +1

@customarcades: 'from japan for the professional gaming community' too? Sorry, but no..
Sushi is made in Japan, doesn't mean it's good. No, actually Sushi is good. I'm sold. It's from Japan, must be good.

You really need to tell us why your product is superior to other products in the price range. Not just tell us everything else is crap because your 'friend' says so. A made in japan, assembled in super awesome factory in australia statement helps no one. Specifications relevant to compare to the current market are helpful.

You know what would sell. An arcade stick that works cross-platform on the next gen consoles. PS3/4 to XBOX360/XBONE. No one else is doing it yet. There are companies with converters. But no all in one solution.

      • +1

Apparently my friend bought one of your 100% Australian imported joystick and the quality is cheap and super crap, because it just uses double translucent design. It wasn't the quality he was expecting, so he went and bought a Hori fight stick which is 100% Japan made parts, no misleading "100% Australian anything" claims, and is covered by a warranty which he can count on.

      • So… "Apparently" (why apparently?) your "friend" bought a Hori stick? And he bought a Hori Stick instead of going straight to you (his friend) who makes joysticks professionally?

        Seems legit.

    • Thanks! Just picked up 2x 360 Hori sticks.

      • +2

Awesome! Enjoy your apparently "cheap and super crap" set of HORI's.

        • LOL !!! Ouch….

        • @KaTst3R: just quoting our 'apparently' well informed OP.

  • where to buy good arcade kit?

    and what brand?

    • -1

This is not a kit, but the actual CA branded joystick I sell.

  • +4

If the joystick is Sanwa but the buttons are not…what the point of buying this arcade stick….Come on OP, you have premium all over but you try to cut cost on the buttons. That is the most important part of the stick (other than the ball top). It is like driving a BMW fitted with a Proton engine.

    • -2

You got a bad point, because if we also use Sanwa buttons this will increase the price and become less competitive.

      • The don't look at the PC Case Gear Mad Catz SXT Cross Arcade FightStick Pro joysticks on offer for $10 more:
        PS3
        Xbox 360

      • +2

I tell you where your competitive edge is. It is the beautiful wood and acrylic finish. Something that the Madcatz or Hori ones dont have. If I buy your stick, I want to show off to my friends that I have a cool looking stick, which yours is to be honest. But it has to come with what the gaming industry term as standard, which is Sanwa joystick and buttons as a minimum.

Why dont you create two set of sticks, one with just the sanwa ball top and another full sanwa. At least people have the option and not have to replace the current buttons and waste them. Those cost money also.

It is a very cut throat industry, no one is gonna risk their tournament play with unbranded equipment. At least with Sanwa, you have some level of assurance that it will function as intended.

        • The Joystick is Sanwa and the buttons are made in Japan.

        • +1

          @customarcades:

I assume you also play fighting games that is why you are in this business. But for me, anything less than Sanwa is a no no. The Sanwa feel is perfect and buttons always accurate and reliable. I cannot afford to doubt my equipment when I am in a match.

Im not saying your buttons are not of good quality. But people generally only trust the big brands like Sanwa, Hori (only the Kuro range) and Gamefinger for buttons.

        • +2

          @customarcades:
KaTst3R offers you some useful, constructive advice and you just keep parroting the same "The Joystick is Sanwa and the buttons are made in Japan." in response.
          /facepalm

        • [@Scipio]@KaTst3R: I'm glad you guys are still trying to help out the OP. Ive given up.

        • +1

Agree. This would be a more appealing option. It wouldn't cost you much to make these orders if people choose to option up to full sanwa. All you would need to do is have the buttons in stock. If you are 'an Australian importer for sanwa products' this should be easy enough to do.

        • @razdryno:

I thought you have given up on helping him !!! Good on ya. You are a man with a kind heart willing to help the clueless.

  • Does anyone know where there are sf tournaments in melbourne cbd

  • can i use this on candy crush.
and will it help pass the levels?

    • It's compatible with PC and PS3, by the way is your candy crush on PC, IOS or android.

      • haha

        • LOL

    • yes, use the stick to smash your device…

      • Good point

  • Highly technical qn for those in the know. I have a custom built wireless stick w/ Sanwa bits and a knock off PS3 PCB. Built this years ago and have since sold my PS3.

We now have a Wii U, XB360, PS2 (yes lol), android devices and a Microsoft SP3 running win 10. Am I able to use this (PS3) joystick on any of these consoles using adaptors of sorts perhaps? I have a heap of fighting games for the PS2 but I don't think they are compatible…

KOF '95 on the PS2 beckons!

    • You will need to jump onto the tech/modding side of sites like shoryuken. I dont really have the knowledge to help you out. There will be options. You might need a new PCB. Or compatible converter from guyslike brook gaming. I will be grabbing one of their PS3 - PS4 converters for my HORI.
