    • I'll look into it Skippy. Thanks for the suggestions.

  • Thanks Steve! Can't wait for those 2 stores aboard :)

  • Hi Steve,

Can you please tell me if you are legitimate and registered Australian business? I made an account on your website 2 months ago and made a transaction with worth $50 in cash back. It was made using your guidelines and all cookies etc. were deleted before making the transaction. This transaction never showed up in my account and two queries were made and they were never responded to.

I called Fair Trading this morning and they have noted my complaint but they require your ABN or business registration details to follow up on the complaint. The lady said that if you don't provide these details, then you might not be a legitimate business and I should contact ATO Tax evasion people who can trace your details and see if you are registered at all.

Please let me know your ABN so that I can pass it on to Fair Trading. I gave you guys enough time but apparently your business model is to make people buy through your links and then keep the cashback in your own pocket.

    Thanks

    • Sure no problem, email me directly steve-AT-moneybackco.com and I'm sure we'll be able to sort this out.

      Cheers, Steve.

    • Off-topic comments deleted. But,

      1. Affiliate tracking using cookies have been known to be problematic, as MoneyBackCo is acting as a 4th party in the transaction between the consumer, the merchant and the affiliation network, and since there are so many things that can go wrong in-between, they simply can't guarantee 100% tracking.

      2. ABN is mainly for tax purposes, and business registration with your state is required if you are doing business online. However, as far as I can see MoneyBackCo stands for Moneyback Community — a community website for the bargain seekers so that we can get the cashback from the affiliation network that we normally wouldn't be able to get. Take it or leave it, but personally I don't think business registration is required.

      3. However I think Steve is working on getting an ABN. Believe me it is a PITA for community site operators like myself to worry about tax, PAYG, activity statements, etc for something that makes me bugger all, when we still have a full time job and families to look after!

      4. I have not yet heard from Steve @ MBC regarding your issue, but I've heard affiliation networks threatening MoneyBackCo to terminate their relationships because of potential fraudulent activities from their members! I am not saying you are, emmae2, but I am not surprised that merchants/affiliation networks cancelling some transactions if they think they are too dodgy.

@emmae2 — if you are not happy with MoneyBackCo not tracking the transaction properly so you can get cashback on affiliation commissions that you normally wouldn't get, then please try someone else. Buckscoop, Cashloop, OzRewardS or even EmailCash — they all have .com.au domains and have ABN/ACN or business registration number on their website, so you can turn them in to Dept of Fair Trading easily if any issue arises.

@Bargain4U — stop trolling here. You are free to go elsewhere if you are not happy with the community here. This is the last warning.
