im in need of a new beard trimmer and shaper thingo, dont know what they are called lol. looking to spend ~$100. not really familiar with what is available in todays market. advice needed. here is something along the lines of what i need to be able to do. My current one is +10 years old now and it barely holds a charge. looking for quality that wont hurt the pocket. thanks guys
p.s i know there is another forum topic like this but its not really the same style as what i wanted - mods pls delete if you think it's a duplicate.

I used to use this, which would work well for the style shown. Currently I use one of these which works well for longer lengths. I'd recommend either, depending on what you need.
Also, from my experience with The Shaver Shop they'd be more than helpful with getting you what you need if you go in and talk to someone.

    • thanks nbpengii. my current one is also a VS Sasoon. I will check out the shaver shop tomorrow as there is one local.

I bought one of these: http://www.philips.com.au/c-p/QG3360_17/multigroom-series-50…

It's waterproof, and you can use it while it's charging (some models, including Philips, you can't) - don't use it under water while charging though! You don't have a LCD screen or buttons to set the size though, you have different combs, and you just push it up a click. You'll probably only use one of the combs, but it doubles up as clippers too, which might be useful.

Something that does annoy be a little is that the "teeth" on the combs don't go beyond the cutter, so you have to get the angle right when you use it. It's probably just something to get used to.

Lastly, whatever you get, make sure it uses a lithium battery. :)

  • just came back from the shop. they were out of everything that i looked into last night. ending up buying this after the guy sucked me in. got it for $90 though. looks alright haha
