Smart Watch selling at Coles for $79

Just saw in the Coles Catalogues a smart watch that's selling for $79 at …you guessed it… COLES. It's not a bad price but since my research about smart phone watches began a few months back, i've noticed some things like:

a) there is a range of prices you can get from online stores in HK or china that sell heaps of these type of watches.

b) is it worth it paying that much, seeing as I could buy it cheaper from those online stores, but would have to wait 10-25 days for delivery. I'm actually still waiting for stuff I bought at GearBest.

c) coles catalogue does not show the Specs for this watch, there is no brand name etc…

d) there is actually a promotion with Wholesaletoner.com.au where you pay $75 for printer cartridge and you can get a similar looking watch, would be interesting to compare the specs between the 2 watches

anyone have any suggestions? actually I may buy it if it was $50 or less.

…Just get the Pebble from DSE

  • I know 'OK' is the brand (stands for Outdoor Konnect or something similar).

Box does not state any OS, suggesting it has its own. UI is similar to Windows Phone's. Camera is on the front bezel above the face, angled at a ~30 degree pitch.

Also supports micro SD and a sim-card too (micro I think).

Here's the product's website (not that it gives you that much info anyways)…

    • how do you know all this stuff, did you buy the watch and try it out? LOL

      • No. I asked the front desk to a look at the box. The watch itself was in a clear plastic box (like the ipod nano/touch).

Why would you pay $79 for a no name watch?

Smart watches are already, on the whole, hideous looking and now you want to go for a overpriced generic Chinese brand that you cannot find the specs for when there's a hideous looking Pebble watch at the same price that has a proven track record and publishes specifications?

    Why?

  • Anything that has "smart" in the brand name is targeted towards not-so-smart people. The companies don't have to think too hard, and the hipsters believe it.

The companies thank you for the sale sales.

    • Smart ozbargainers just ask someone for the time and save money! 😀

  • I know personally id rather continue to put my hand in my pocket and get my phone out which can do everything it can plus more and keep the $79 in my wallet.

  • Isn't this the same item? Still Les than half price??
