TENS Machine

I am experiencing a lot of back and leg pain. I have a TENS machine but it is quite old. I am thinking of getting a new one (if it looks better than the one I already have.) The one I have is a NeuroTrac Rehab. Does anyone know of a good machine I can research.

Thank you.

  • Ask your physiotherapist. S/he is mot likely to know your circumstances and recommend an appropriate device. I wouldn't recommend seeking such advice of Ozbargain as its to do with your wellbeing.

Did you try replacing the leads on your old device?

    • Thank you for taking the time to respond.

The old device still works. But given the pain I am in. I thought that there may be something better out there with more pads or perhaps some very large pads. I am finding that I use it and then have to move the pads to do another area. You are probably right. I will ask the physio or chiro for ideas.

      • You might be able to purchase larger pads for your current machine. If that's what you need you might also need to buy larger pads for the new machine

        • OK. I didn't think of that. I will check that out. Thank you for your assistance.

  • Just did a mega search for you on tens.
The one I have is Omron 128. Bought from crazysales under $80 now only see min $150 delivered.

    • Thank you for doing that for me. I appreciate it.

      • Spotted this.

  • I thank each of you for taking the time to respond to my post. I will try to get some larger pads for my current TENS machine. I desperately need to cover as much area as possible. If I cannot find anything that fits my machine, I will get a new one that will hold the larger pads.

I thank you again for your advice.

    • Hello I'm a physio, have used TENS quite a lot in the public health system and all the places I've worked have used the neutrac system so if its worked for you, maybe just upgrade to the latest model :)

      • Thank you. Can you let me know which model is the latest. I will keep it in mind if it has extra features that may help me. Thanks again.

        • This is one of the latest models

To be honest, there isn't usually a huge difference between models in terms of functions - it just looks fancier!

The main advice I would give to anyone using TENS long term is to keep changing modes to stop the body from getting used to it - continuous mode often feels great to begin with but its effect can die down quicker, so I usually say try a bit of burst/pulsed mode in between

          Good luck with it all.

  • I bought this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000XHNBLU early last year. Works well and still going strong

    • Thank you OldBugger for taking the time to respond to me.

      • No worries! Hope it helped

  • Try the comffit over at tens machine. I just checked and its on sale. A friend loaned this same one to me and does the job. That reminds me, I need to give it back to him! :)
