It is possible to cause political change by pressuring commercial organisations to be responsible in their business dealings. (even if it does mean giving up $5)Understand your concern but how does that help here. There are 500 cards available. i boycott this and someone else takes the card, so caltex still distributes 500 cards, and are none the wiser.
Boycotts work when they can have effect, not when they can't.

and wisdom to know the difference.yeah you are certainly right, these vouchers will surely all be given away and used. Theres no chance Caltex would even notice if the whole ozbargains community bypassed this offer.
But I think you are looking at the suggestion of a boycott much too narrowly. The idea here is not just to ignore the voucher offer but to avoid caltex as much as possible. That is a boycott that could work.
Sure its an idealistic suggestion and it may completely fail but maybe enough people will switch on and it could make some impact.as an aside, your line of arguement - 'it wont make any difference if I take some action because there are plenty of others who wont' - must be exactly the same line of thinking that texaco/caltex uses in justifying what they are doing in burma - they must reason that if they dont buy these resources and lobby abroad for support of the burmese state then someone else will…
you might say that this is just the cold pragmatic reality of the world, and maybe you are right. but maybe its not an impossible aim for human rights to be more highly respected in global business and politics.

Great find!! Hopefully the voucher will arrive in one way or another. There's no mention as to how the vouchers will be mailed, and the limit of entries a person can put in. Anyway, this is what I got after I submitted my details:
