"Compact crankset with the latest Shimano 105 gearing"
This is incorrect, the Falco Advanced has the superseded Shimano 105 5700 groupset.
The more expensive Falco Elite has the current 105 5800 groupset.

Rep: what, if anything, makes the Falco Advanced better than the Momentum R530 for the same price?

      Good question, Rep?
As far as I can see:
Worse: The Falco is heavier and has some Tiagra components (BB, cassette, chain). I think the DA16 rims are heavier and older than the R450s.
Better: Internal cabling, Reid has more stores and includes 12 months of servicing, longer stated warranty on components, double crank is generally more appropriate for road bike (esp with wider range)
Unknown: Momentum says it has a triple crank, but also says "20 speed".

Momentum seems far better value on the bike alone, though the other benefits of Reid may come in handy…

main thing for me is that the momentum has a full 105 groupset (including front and rear cassettes, derailleurs, levers, and brakes).

probably better off nabbing a cheap secondhand falco elite off gumtree anyway (seem to be a few floating around).

        • the only that puts me off, is the terrible paint job they did for that momentum 105 bike.

      • 8.5k seems real light for an allow frame even with a carbon fork doesnt it? otherwise seems to be great value

        • The Momentum:

          105 groupset ~2.6kg
          Alex R450 wheelset ~2.1kg
          FSA Vero road bar 300g
          FSA Integrated headset ~80g
          FSA Afterburner? stem 166g
          FSA Gossamer? seatpost 318g
          Kenda Kriterium? tyres 420g (210g x2)
Inner tubes 320g (Cheng Shin x2)
          Own brand saddle 300g (estimate)

          = 6.6Kg

Leaves ~2Kg for the frame and fork. Possible I guess?
