i think that pretty much sums up gearbest perfectly?

The next model they release will be called Howeser

Goes well with the 'Ainol' Tablet.

6250mAh, 170 grams, 9.9mm thick and up to 75% charge in 30 mins (almost 10Ah rate)!?!?!?!! Gotta grab one of these!

With all these complaints about this shop, why is it not banned

    • +1

simple… OzB makes its money by how many people click on each deal.

      • so true, Nosdan.

    • Some people don't mind the wait. As long as your goods eventually arrive and you got a great price, what's a few months?

      • A few months for a smart phone can mean the difference between a great deal and a superseded overpriced phone. Lift your game GB!

like always, you hear the complaints, because they are angry and motivated, the people that get their stuff just get on with life and enjoy their purchases. People are drawn to the "free shipping" which takes 4 weeks, and don't want to pay the $7 for the 1 week shipping.

Then they also want the discount for pre-order …… pre order, free shipping = 8 weeks, preorder $7 shipping to 5 weeks ………

A mathematical combination for disaster for people that want cheap and fast ……..

I have no problems, I go with the free shipping and wait …… always get my stuff eventually …..

    • Very few people actually complain about them. It's mostly a very vocal nosdan.

  • "This phone is a presell and Ships after Oct 20th."

Well at least that much is accurate. It will ship well after Oct 20th.

    • Thats assuming it does come out on time. 99% of China Phone releases do not come out on that date leading to more excuses about "waiting from supplier for shipment" etc.

      • Eh… no. Even if it doesn't come out on time, it will still ship after Oct20th. It's not going to ship sooner because the phone was released later :P

  • Lots of whinging about delivery times. I think it depends on the item… I have ordered multiple phones for people and they have been deleivered within three weeks… Although have had other items take a fair while.

And when I have paid $10 for delivery it has come within a week!

Different experiences I guess… Just wanted to let you know mine.

    • Agree. I bought few. From mere $1 to $30, they all arrived . of course not within two weeks.

    • I paid 10 for express shipping once and they emailed demanding 20 more because their system apparently undercharged me. Then ended up waiting 6 weeks for the phone arrived because I refused to add another 10% of the phone price on afterwards for the express postage that I paid for.

I definitely had my fill of them in one go ;)

    • same with me, stuff arrives, free shipping is 3-4 weeks, pay delivery it arrives in a week.

People need to do the maths of preorder and free delivery.

"Delivery times" is often affected by these factors:

"Presale release" - as I wrote above, most Chinese mobiles never come out on the date they anticipate it will. Usually 2 weeks after is when stock actually is available. Advice - if you want it now, dont get anything presale because you can literally wait forever and they may even forget your order (which actually has happened to me before).
"Waiting on Supplier" - Almost every one of these companies are dropship and never hold real stock themselves but act as a front end for thousands of smaller suppliers. Suppliers may also have multiple front ends and can conflict with stock levels meaning you might miss out even though the website says its in stock. Cant avoid this unless you go to a site that buys and holds stock.
"Free Shipping" - is dangerous in most situations given that they do surface mail if it is free shipping for the majority of the cases. It will be faster rowing the damn parcel back to Australia than most free shipping. Dont go tight and pay the $15 for Express Courier
"Manifest created" - might appear on express deliveries and can stay in that state for more than a few days. This actually means that the order has been created and that the courier / post is booked (manifest). However, the vendor or supplier has not called the courier / post to pick up the goods as yet. This may be a number of reasons including stupidity (ie. human error), waiting on stock or something wrong with the order.

Some companies do offer partial delivery if things are getting held up with one or two items within a list.

      • wish I could vote +100 for this
        perfectly summed up

        don't get anything presale

        • +1

          @bchliu

you forgot to add - after the "presale release" is expired, the price normally drops by a fair bit also, making it a really bad idea to preorder as it isn't going to arrive any quicker for those people that paid the premium for "preorder"

5.5 720p screen. Wildly high battery specs. This has got dodgee written all over it.

    • Agreed; looks a bit too good to be true.

  • +2

    Dodgy!!!
Who comes up with these awful names?
I thought Ainol would never be topped, although it still makes me chuckle every time I see it.

    • Ainol's name is pronounced completely different in China… might be why they don't release much anymore.

  • 75% within 30mins? I concern about the battery life, how long it's last,
I bought one vk6735 from Gearbest, 3000mah battery charge 2-3 hours to get full , but last about a day only IF you DO NOT use it, my other phone 2600mah battery last 1 week if I don't use it.
I don't trust their description any more, I got problem with this phone , sent email to after sale support, took 27 days to reply even web says will reply within 24hours. Imagine that if you really need this phone to call

  • Amazing they still makes phones with such poor 4G coverage. If Telstra and Optus can do a prepaid phone 4G phone for $100 that has 4G with 700mhz coverage it can't be too hard a task. And unlock is a few $ on Ebay.
Great feature phones with poor coverage ……

    • No 3G 850 no sale.

  • Just to add my 2cents as well on Gearbest. So far I have ordered 3 items from them, two with free shipping option and they both arrived in 3 weeks time. Last one was the Chuwi Hi8 with the cheap delivery option and it came within a week.

  • You just hope it don't break down, there after sales service really sucks…..

    • well we all know that when we buy it from the HK sites that we should not be expecting any after sales support. I have been buying stuff from last 5 years and touchwood have had a good experience.

      • your been lucky…all they have offered is a new battery for a tablet..

        • tough luck mate, i guess once in a while there maybe a loss but overall the money u save over the years should probably compensate for it.

  • Since this is almost two months away before we can expect to receive this… Does anyone have a suggestion for a sub $150 dual sim android phone?

I've seen a couple for $100-$150 in the Coles catalogue , but I wonder if there's any decent android phones with dual sim capability available online for postage immediately ?

I just want it for a remote at home for chromecast and other smart devices, and also to play around with firmwares and small hacks and rooting. I need the dual sim to take advantage of all the sim deals lately and I want to start using seperate numbers for marketers and non personal contacts to call me etc

    • Yeah I am looking for something around here, the elephant p8000 looks pretty good for the price but like everything in this segment the camera isn't passable

    • I got 2 Elephone P6000 Pro 3GB ones for about $330 including DHL shipping from en.jd.com and they are really good for the money.
