Surfers Paradise restaurants

Dear ozbargain er,

I am currently staying in surfers with my girlfriend. We are to find decent food at a decent price during the day Nd dinner. Since we are staying staying in a hotel we aren't able to cook.

I would like to ask if there is any good food restaurants for dinner at a reasonable price of 20-30$ for two people.

Many thanks, buds

  • Not 100% sure on the price, but the wife and I ate at the Coffee Club restaurant (serves better stuff than the usual coffee club stands) in Cavill Mall.
They had pretty decent food and were open reasonably late (but was in Feb, may have seasonal hours).

    • Yeah they are quite nice and about the best of the lot on Cavill. All the restaurants along there have a selection of meals for about $10-$15 but I don't really rate them much.

If you like asian food there is a whole bunch of noodle and sushi restaurants together that are nice (we've tried 3 of them so far and been happy with them all) and offer good value. They are just around the corner from Cavill Ave, in a new arcade that runs between Orchid Ave and Surfers Paradise Blvd. Kinda under the Hilton.

If you want to spend a bit more then Chiangmai Thai (half way to Broadbeach - have never been to the Surfers one) is great. Lovely restaurant.

We also like the buffet at Jupiters. You can get a 20% off voucher in one of the info books and if you go at lunch time it works out a bit more reasonable. You won't need dinner if you eat there at lunch.

Have a look in the free booklets, and at shopadockets. A lot of places offer discounts.

  • Most of the surf clubs do surprisingly good meals for that price range, there's probably half a dozen within walking distance from Surfers.

  • Used to work in Surfers, and there were not a lot of cheap options for quality food. A short walk south on the beachfront is http://www.northcliffesurfclub.com.au/index.vm. Maybe just over your budget, but worth a visit. The arcade near the Hilton as mentioned is good and has http://yumchacuisine.com/yum-cha-noodle-haus-hilton/?postTab…. Often went there for cheap feeds. Also in the Lido Arcade is Kimchee House Korean. They had cheap prepared takeaway lunchboxes or eat in. The Clock Hotel http://www.theclockhotel.com.au/bistro.php has a few choices for $7.95 lunch or $9.95 dinner(need to purchase a drink). Oh, and the Surfers RSL, not that flash but the food was good. It's also worth having a chat with hotel/accommodation staff, they are usually in the know.

  • My recs for cheap(er) good food are:

http://www.greekstreet.com.au (you can also get 20% off voucher in one of those tourist guides) - I recommend the chicken belt platter for two. Its delicious!

http://www.brooklyndepot.com.au Yes it is another burger place. But the burgers are fantastic! It's very 'now' so get in early or be prepared to wait a while - or takeaway.
