Headset/Earphones/Headphones with Mic Preferably under $20-30

Officeworks seems to have not so good quality ones. The $5 one listed seems to have broken within 48 hours from a customer review. Any other suggestions?

With your usual cashrewards blah blah

  • Xiaomi Piston 2.0

  • Since Piston has been mentioned (I don't understand the hype behind the 3.0 version, I guess it's alright after using EQ and such), I will give you another recommendation.

Second hand Apple EarPods would cost you around that much as well (you know, from those people who sell their EarPod after purchasing an iPhone to recoup some of the cost). They are alright if you can grab one under $30 (that said, I might be one of the few people who don't have any problems with the design).

    The Xiaomi pistons are excellent.

I also have some Logitech UE4000, on ears and were on clearance months ago for $25.
    Now available for $22

if you don't mind waiting a month then I'd suggest these for US$2.91. I've bought 3 pairs and they are decent value for money.

  • My vote is on the Pistons - I've listened to my music over the decades on Cerwin Vegas [not white box], Quads, JBL fitted Sansuis, pre-offshored Warfendales, senheisers and even , when friend have had more money that sense, Bose. The pistons may not be perfect, but when it comes to clarity and response they sound a million bucks. The separation of voices in harmonies, clarity of incidental percussion ect offer a clarity I never expected to hear. Mushato is asking ~$35 ATM, but they come down regulalry [:-p} and are the genuine article posted from a local [Aus] supply.

  • If you skimp on headsets, you are going to have a bad time.
Uncomfortable, poor quality voice and sound, poor construction quality.

  • In that price range, I'd do with the Pistons as well. I ordered them online recently, about $22AU from the US. I disagree with a lot of the rave reviews they are getting, I don't think they are particularly great sounding, definitely not compared to Sennheisers and Shure's that I've owned in the <$100 range but definitely a lot better than anything else in the <$50 range.
