The season pass just got released so IIRC this is the only discounted price as of yet. Includes all future DLC, of which is expected to be 4.

Prices are in USD, not AUD…

    • -6

No, i don't think so. Prices are in AUD. GMG have fixed prices, the AUD price is not determined by USD on this website. USD is 69.30 for both F4 and Season Pass which is 96.64 AUD.

See there is a huge (AUD) next to the Fallout title in the link.

      • +7

No, there is a huge (AU) next to the Fallout title, which means you're getting the AU version (which is exactly the same, but with a higher price). The price is still in USD.

All prices on GreenManGaming.com are in USD.

        • +4

I made this mistake a couple of weeks ago, bought it as I thought it was in AUD, however the $60 something USD worked out to over $80 AUD - I could buy a boxed retail copy for cheaper than that, so I cancelled the GMG order (which they quickly and happily refunded).

        From their T&C page:

Prices are quoted in UK pounds, Euros or US Dollars depending on your geographical location. You must pay in the currency in which the price is quoted.

and it says AU not AUD next to the title.

Apologies Noel and everyone (Thanks for updating Mods). Honest mistake. I haven't used GMG before and picked up this link from Reddit. I thought the AU they used was an indicator of the currency. My bad for coming off as a dick.

        No problem at all.
        :)

        FYI, I didn't downvote you.

  • Noob question, what is the season pass?

    • +2

Expansion Packs. There should not be any before a game is released (IMO), but this is the new breed, this is the future.

Pre-orders encourage incomplete releases to be sold, wait for the game to be playable before handing over moneys

    • Noone025 didn't really answer your question. A season pass gives you all current and future DLC for "free" when you buy the pass; instead of having to purchase each segment when they're released.

      • cheers, this makes sense

I guess the only thing you dont know is what and how much you are paying for

        • Not quite. In most cases, the amount of DLC and their prices are announced at the time of the season pass. Typically, you end up getting 4 sets of DLC for the price of 3.

What you don't know is whether the DLC will be any good. There's also the risk that the DLC ends up being cancelled (eg Assassin's Creed Unity), although you'd likely be compensated if that's the case.

Don't get a season pass ever.

I got stung hard by the last of us, spent 30 bucks on a season pass for them to release one shitty update.

The last of us was a massive hit btw so it warranted a lot of DLC.

DLC always comes down to next to nothing in price after a little while anyway.

      • DLC always comes down to next to nothing in price after a little while anyway.

Not with Bethesda. They tend to keep the DLC prices high long after release (eg, Skyrim).

        • Fallout new vegas would disagree with you. There are always sales on skyrim and fallout with dlc.

A single player game like fallout it really doesnt matter if you wait.

        • @kasp: There are significant sales on the entire games with DLC, there aren't significant sales on the DLC itself. Ie, with Skyrim they'll have the Legendary Edition on sale for say $20, but if you just want Dawnguard it'll still be $15.

        • @CarbonTwelve:

Usually the sales impact the DLC as well.

However it really depends on the season. I don't think it's worth buying a season pass because generally you are long done with the game before anything comes out anyway and by the time you pick it up to play again you can get it cheaper.

DON'T PAY MONEY FOR A (profanity) GAME THAT IS STILL MONTHS AWAY YOU MORONS.

    :) Just a friendly tip

    • +4

Pre-orders are never a good idea.

    • +4

Months? It's out on November 10!

      • +3

Inconceivable! No one in Guilder knows what we've done, and no one in Florin could have gotten here so fast.

        • +1

Not enough Princess Bride fans here obviously.

        • +1

Thats what you get for getting into a land war with asia

        • @Themojorising: Hehehe, I was expecting someone to come back with "You keep saying that word. I do not think it means what you think it means"

    • +1

It's fallout 4 and we will pre-order if we want to! Now come aboard the fallout 4 hype train only 1 month to go woot!

  • +1

BTW I'm pretty sure you are wrong it is US dollars but still, in true oz bargain spirit it is the cheapest price you can order the season pass for at the moment, so you get a +1 for me. Also, it's Fallout 4, so yeah that's an automatic +1

  • +1

I am not going to get through Witcher 3 and Dragon Age Inquisition by the time this comes out am I

    • I still have to get through the Witcher 1, 2 and 3 plus Skyrim! Not even going to think about Dragon Age or Fallout.
Ack, got such a backlog of games to play. By the time I get around to playing a game they are in the dollar bin pile and I've effectively wasted $30+ dollars…

  • +1

Buying a full game (base + DLC) is now over > $100? HELL NO!

We haven't had full games priced over $99.95 ever (that's a general comment - yes there are retarded exceptions like this, collector's editions and Halo Bare Minimum +1 DLC edition).. not even in the 1990's when Command and Conquer 1 or Full Throttle had just come out. You know, when the exchange rate was just as bad.

BETHESDA NEEDS TO RETHINK AUD PRICING. IF THESE ARE THE PRICES, I'M NOT BUYING.

(and I buy a lot of games and don't pirate. I just don't appreciate being ripped off)

    • +1

The season pass is effectively the expansion pack of old. If you adjust for inflation, Command and Conquer 1's base game + expansion pack would've been over $100 combined when they came out.

Having said that, I agree that the Australia tax is complete BS for digital goods, and I wish the ACCC would crack down on Valve for it just like they did Adobe.

      • I would argue that the four DLC that is rumoured to be coming probably don't stack up to the same amount of gameplay as old expansion packs of old. Back in the day they used to offer as much as the original game itself. They needed to, because it had to earn it's place on a shelf and be worth physically shipping around the place.

I'm yet to experience that same amount of content from a season pass.

        • I'm not sure it's necessarily true that the expansion pack had as much content as the original. If we go with the Command and Conquer example, the original had 28 missions while the expansion only had 15. It also lacked a campaign story, as well as any FMV like the original had.

Compare with something like BL2, which when looking at something like How Long to Beat (http://howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=1274) takes about 30 hours to beat the main campaign, with the main 4 packs of DLC (that come with the season pass) taking about 18 hours to beat.

          Seems pretty similar to me.

  • Green Man Gaming is meh, not as cheap as other websites.

    • I usually find GMG is amongst the cheapest of the legitimate sites. Places like cdkeys.com or G2A might be cheaper, but they're often in the news for having keys revoked due to obtaining them from unofficial sources.

      • works fine for me
